Out of country media

I recently left the country to visit where I am going to live next year and I had never really used the internet down there but the hotel I was at had wifi this time and I had my laptop so when I had a bit of downtime I went to try to open Pandora to listen to a bit of music. Much to my surprise I find that Pandora isn't available in some countries. Looking at it now it doesn't seem all that strange with international copyright and what not but it was a serious letdown for me. So a few days passed and I am in the hotel and I feel like watching a movie but all the channels on the TV there were shit so I open Netflix and again it is firewalled. Am I just a spoiled American with too many luxuries or is it kind of bullshit? Discuss or whatever you people do.
