So, If I wanted to start gold farming, could I run maybe 10-15 bots on 1 ip address? or would this be like 100% ban rate? thanks

Of course it would be a huge ban rate, if your going to run that many bots you might aswell get some vpns..

You answered your own question right here. Yes they will more than likely all get banned.

If you were to spread them out over several IPs using proxies you'd be fine but always be aware the risk of being banned is very present.

Not necessarily. Some people have reported having ~30 bot farms from a single IP. It's all chance and speculation at the moment. Personally, I believe that multiple connections aren't a flag per se, however if you get caught botting on one account, it will lead them to look into all others associated with that IP. Therefore botting on multiple would increase the chances of getting them chain banned. (just takes one of them to bring the whole farm)

I am in no way saying that this is correct, but only my own view on it. I've only botted at most 5 on the one IP for 10+ hours a day with no bans. Good scripts, not commonly botted things. But. It's all chance. GL.

I run a miniture bot farm on my VPS, and home computer, and I can tell you that the smallest signs of running a bot farm/gold farm will make Jagex ban your accounts IMMEDIATELY, without question. Play the long term game, invest some money, and set up a reliable bot farm on several VPS or VPNS.

Thing is, I don't know how to set up vpns/vps or proxies... all that stuff would be new to me, how many accounts do you think could be on 1 ip with out being a huge commotion?

After you received your first ban, you'd be in trouble on all the accounts. I doubt your IP would be flagged prior to a ban though.

Depends on the bot. If you are running something like yew cutters, yeah it is a stupid idea.

10-15 is pretty ballsy... if you're running anything 6+ i would say there are some nice wholesale proxy or vpns that you can get that are only a few dollars.

How hard is it to set up a proxy/vps/vpn? I'm just curios on how many bots you could run on 1 ip, with out them noticing, would 5/IP be ok?

If you have an account you have x chance of it being banned. Assuming that if one gets banned, the rest do to, then by running six bots, you have 6 of those chances of all of these accounts getting banned.
By increasing the amount of bots per IP, each individual's account banrate increases even without considering how suspicious it is to have multiple accounts on one IP.
So if you are investing so much computational power, and accounts on a botfarm project, it wouldn't make sense to run them all in one IP. Ideally you want them to be unlinkable, so if one gets banned, there is no way the others will be banned. That way they are all independent, except for the fact that they use the same bot, the only way they can get all of them, is if they find an exploit to your bot :)

After all the controversy over at Tribot about proxies, I think this is the most sound reasoning I have read. People seem to think running proxies / VPN's means a magical anti-ban aura is cast all over your accounts and Jagex won't be able to ban you because of this amazing technology. But alas, it is merely a method of reducing the chance of chain bans.

The best you can do is using like 3/4 on same ip, i would say 10/15 is a bit too much and you will eventually get your ip flagged.

I also believe that if you have 2 accounts on an IP then the chances of each being banned is much higher than double the risk, since if an account that has been flagged has another account playing on that IP over a long period of time, then it is going to get banned. However if an account only has 1 account playing on its IP, it may pass manual examination.

By having more than one account per IP you are basically resigning an account whenever someone from staff takes a look at it.
