Age?

What are your thoughts on age differences with dating? Just curious is all as to how people look about it.

 

usually within 3 years of each other is ideal to me, especially if it's someone you're getting married too and plan to spend the rest of your life with. i had a neighbor who was 10 years younger than her husband was, and since men usually die first, she was a widower for like 15 years. can you imagine that shit? it's gotta be a tough life.

 

I don't really mind the age differences. It matters if the two people love each other or not.

 

As long as your both above the legal age limit i see nothing wrong with it. When me and my current gf started dating i was 19 and she was 24, and we turned out just fine.

 

Age difference doesn't account to much because emotional maturity varies.

But when you're say... 20, it matters. Not so much at 30.

I say ~5 years after you're both legal and it should be fine.

 

Honestly a lot of people say age doesn't matter but would it creep you out if your 18 year old daughter was dating a man who was 30+? They're both legal age aren't they?

At 30+ age doesn't matter because at that point of your life you should be looking for a life partner.

It would all depend on his backround in that case, and why he was interested in my daughter as appose to someone closer to his own age.

 

Honestly, Age doesn't matter, as long as you both love each other, as stated above. If you really enjoy spending time with him/her, go for it!

 

To me, an ideal age difference would be 1-3 years apart

 

I never step out of 2 years younger 2 years older. I dated someone older once and we just didnt match maturity wise, she wanted to settle down and I still felt like a kid myself.

 

I generally use the rule of about 5 years older or roughly around the same age. My husband is six months younger than I am, but luckily for me, we were on the same page.

 

3-5 years i'd say was about my limit, it's not a personal thing just the social stigma involved with any difference (being say 22-25) would burden on me

 

3-5 years would be my comfort zone, but at the end of the what other consider "acceptable" should play no importance to you. It's 100% your choice and what feels right is what you should go with.

 

As long as one is not underage, it really doesn't matter. However, it is sort of weird unless you're within like 5 years

 

Hah I was just curious and such. I was talking to a girl online for awhile, talked on the phone and such. Turns out she was 16... I was like yeaahhh no. Not worth going to jail for. However though now, I'm talking to a girl who is 23. I prefer older woman overall, just because of maturity and experience.

 

don't care about it as long it's like pedo's or extremely young and old..

 

Oddly enough all my girlfriends [ex and current] have been either less than one year younger or less than one year older.

Current is 21, I'm 20.

I think 3-4 years are ok, over that it can be hard, imho.

I had a friend that was 18 and dated a 21 year old for a while, I didn't think it was weird.

 

it all depends. middle school=same grade high school=within 3 years 18+ probably keep it within 2-4 years, with the male being older primarily. but once you get like 35-45, people are like 3-8 years younger.
