jg doesn't ass-kiss, far from it, he's always spoken his mind whether it's what people want to hear or not and i know him personally to be a genuine person since i've known him

nobody would act differently in my position, i'm not gonna say no if i think he deserves a pardon

So a scammer feels entitled to stay at Sythe after scamming $300, and feels no need to act differently, and to continue being an asshole as per usual, and that makes them trusted

You make it sound like an accomplishment for a scammer to get omm, and that absolves him. It really doesn't make a difference because no one knew he scammed.

And that's another thing. He was able to hide his scamming nature for three years. How do you know he's actually who you think he is? This pardon is just part of his facade.

im not thrilled he didn't come forward back then but i have no doubts about him whatsoever, so why should i not support him

by that i should just assume everyone who scams is dodgy as fuck and can never return. so why have pardons. everyone lies in their life, everyone makes mistakes in their life, everyone has been tempted in one way or another to act against rules or even laws.

 

You're missing the point. We're upset that the security of sythe's traders comes down to "if I like him, he'll stay unbanned"

i've no supported people i like that i wouldn't trust with substantial amounts

why bother having no supports/supports if a checklist of generic criteria determines the outcome (what it's sounding like)

it's case-by-case and on staffs opinions of a person

 

I understand how pardons work, and imo the very system itself is fundamentally flawed, but it's cause for worry when staff's opinions can be so easily influenced in some of these cases.

Allowing him to submit an app when he returns doesn't necessarily mean he'll get it back. He still has to pass an upper staff poll.

 

i get that, but what would sway the upper staff to vote in his favor? the guy scammed $300 and didn't tell anyone for 3 years, and you're still willing to give him the chance to be considered among the most trusted on the website? that's what i don't understand. just ban him from being able to apply (even though he probably won't anyway).

unless this has to due with being fair, since a somewhat similar scenario happened with a certain someone who eventually became an admin and head omm, and it'd be hypocritical to deny jack goff the chance to become an omm

however none of this honestly matters so idk why im posting about it lol
