    Communication Theory Homework

This is my assignment for my Intro to Communication Theory class:
(1 ½ - 2 pages) At this point, what ideas do you have in mind concerning possible future careers? How will the study of communication help you in that direction? Think of the seven areas of communication studies (intrapersonal, interpersonal, small group etc.) that we discussed in class, as well as some of the research you did on the NCA website. How might knowledge of one or more of the seven areas we discussed help you in that career? E.g. a teacher would be more effective with a knowledge of interpersonal communication (working with individual students and colleagues), group communication (leading a class, working with groups of other teachers), public communication (public speaking ability), media (incorporating mass media into a class and helping students be more aware of how television influences them), organizational communication (working with a teacher’s union, the school board, my principle), intercultural communication (dealing with a diverse student population).

I plan on doing something in the field of media arts (video, animation, graphic design, web design, etc.), so that is what I am using for this question.

The assignment is due tomorrow at 3:00 PM EST.

I appreciate any help you can give! :)

If you could list what's contained in your communications class that would help, e.g do you do talks, reports, comprehension exercises, etc etc (listening/reading/writing/talking).

Also, what are the seven areas you were told about?
