How The F**k Do You Study Math

I'm asian and I'm ashamed to say that I am horrible at math...
I major in computer engineering and apparently, this limitation in skills is really affecting my grades.

How do you study math?
I'm not so confident about it; I remember spending hours a day solving math equations in high school only to solve only 6 out of 18 problems on time.

Please give me some tips :/

 

I'd say experiment with different methods of solving whatever you're doing. Practise makes perfect, too. Maths is one of those subjects that's completely mind-boggling for so long and suddenly it just clicks.

Shows live examples, step by step of up to acturism maths level.

 

Youtube is really great, just type the topic that your trying to study for In the search bar amd then watch the videos. Their really great. What I do is watch the videos and do the examples with them, and when I think I quite good at the topic I try some examples by my self and if I made a mistake ill go back to the video and resume it to see the mistake a I made. If this isn't Calculus, I am disappointed in you.

There's countless ways to get help ranging from the internet, to friends, to tutors, etc.

 

Try going through your old problems/notes and analyze the mistakes you have made. Once you figure out the mistakes, you can then do some practice problems. Keep practicing until you are satisfied. Also if you can't figure out your mistakes or need more help, try searching on YouTube on how to solve the problems. Good luck!

To me, practicing is the way to go for Math.

 

I'm not good at math as well. I just look at the examples to learn it and I also ask my friends/teachers to tutor me.

it's too bad that tutoring is a popular PT job among university students and that they're not willing to provide it for free in my country

 

You're not alone math is simply difficult. Just try not to get discouraged. Don't spend your time reading if the reading doesn't make sense. Do problems. Try your best on each problem then look at the solution. After doing this for 10-15 problems in a chapter you'll probably start to get the hang of it.

I used to waste my time trying to understand the readings, but it would get nowhere. Only after I try a bunch of problems I'll start to get the hang of a concept.

What ever homework you are assinged do it... even if it's optional that's the best way I find of course you go above and beyond by making problems yourself and answering them on what ever subject your on...

The real question is how the fuck do you study for English

You know, I've tried studying English in a foreigner's(Korean) perspective and I gotta tell you that it's retarded lol

 

Whenever learning a new, ambiguous topic, I always find writing out all my steps as clearly as possible to be a big help. That way, it's a lot easier to pinpoint what exactly you don't understand and you can continuously google search and follow youtube tutors until it becomes more or less intuitive. Also going back to the fundamentals and understanding why something makes sense usually helps. Meaning, I don't know, instead of just memorizing the procedure of how to find the area between two curves using integrals, actually trying to understanding how it works outs could be beneficial. Lastly, listening to binaural beats on youtube claiming to increase concentration helps me, although it's probably mostly pseudo.

well, what i always did was pay attention in class, and write notes and learn to solve the problems and then re-do problems and solve the same type of problems.

you don't really study math. it's more of you learn how to do it and through reputation, you retain the information and it becomes natural.

make sure you fully understand 'todays subject' in your math class and ask questions if you don't understand. TAKE NOTES and write down examples so when you do your homework, you can look back at your problems you did in math and this will essentially get you good grades on tests as well.
