Putting Sythe on a School App

What do you guys think. Would it do me good or bad?



Good school with a ~1/3 acceptance rate. I need more "examples of leadership." Figured that I could potentially expand (and slightly exaggerate) on what I've done with Sythe. Any thoughts?

I'm aware that this is the spam forum but any legitimate opinion would be appreciated!

I would definitely include it, make it sound professional (key terms "Virtual Goods" and "Cryptocurrency"). Mention your influence you had, the volume of trade that goes on the forums on a daily basis, perhaps the maximum amount of money you were trusted with by an anonymous seller. I'm counting the work I do for Dragon Dyce as 2 years Administration/Management experience on my resume.

 

Sure, it got me a job. I didn't directly mention it on my resume, but I made reference to it in the interview.

Bad idea, they might google sythe and find the spam forum, then all these new fag vaders would join would suck.

 

If you do use it, I wouldn't mention "Sythe", just mention that you help moderate a forum with X members and Y threads etc. If they find out that the forum is a black market for a game, they probably won't like that.

People are looking for something that stands out. If you romanticize Sythe and mention it, it will be something that may intrigue your potential employer/application reader.

 

You can put anything there if you write it intellectually. I wrote down RSUltimate as a small business rather than a gold shop

Anyway, I probably would include it. Its not like it could do any harm and it definitely counts as leadership experience etc..

 

Make sure you include your postcount.

 

I would put that you've had experience in leadership positions, you work well in a team and the you learn the nature of the position quickly. I wouldn't put Sythe directly on your application though. Unless they ask for an example I wouldn't mention Sythe at all.
