You see worse stuff while on the beach. Turn them off if it offends you in some way.

Images were cracked down on a while ago. If it would get a kid in trouble with their parents, don't post it, was essentially what happened.

I'd say people are just concerned because there's the risk of coming over an image that isn't nudity but NSFW either way that you'd get into trouble at work / school / college for it.

That is what I was thinking (to both of you)

either way I suppose it is staff choosing but I would like a 100% final verdict/ruling for all staff members to follow (unless there is one but all I see is staff members making up their own minds.)

If you're browsing sythe at work and not on your mobile than you should just turn avatars and signatures off. It's just smarter to do if you're at work anyway.

Bit annoying to have to keep changing it when alternating between work / home. Plus its silly to do that when only a few users on the site have a NSFW avatar / signature.

Yeah but then why even complain about it? If you don't want work to get mad then just turn them off or browse from your cell phone. Seems a bit much to want people with NSFW avatars or sigs to get punished when you can avoid it entirely if you choose to.

    That's my take on it.

Using work is a poor example for this case... It's not like your boss would allow you to browse an online market forum during work, but not allow you to browse an online market forum where a user has a revealing avatar...

If it's not nude it's not nude. Is there clothing? Yes, not nude.

It clearly states it's up to the staff to decide, so no offence, but why was this thread needed in the first place? It's not porn showing a part of a girl's ass. If your sister walked in you could easily scroll down before she saw it. Plus why would you be on Sythe at work?
Also, if you made that your avatar, what would your sister think?

I feel that having (even softcore) suggestive images in a signature/avatar on a market website displays a lack of professionalism and should be discouraged. Whether to ban it is another question, but, other things equal, I support a more restrictive interpretation of the no-porn rules. I think that permitting such images reflects poorly on the website in addition to the users who choose to display them.

In addition to the downside of lower professionalism, I don't see much, if any, benefit to allowing suggestive images in avatars or signatures. A dedicated thread in the off-topic or spam forum should suffice for anyone who absolutely must get their fix of attractive women from sythe.org (a large portion of the internet is already dedicated to delivering this kind of content).

This seems like an eminently sensible policy.

As much as I love me some tits'n ass, it's not what I come to Sythe for. I don't see a reason to put something like this as your signature/avatar in the first place. Unless somebody can provide a valid reason to have some girl's ass as your avatar/signature, I personally think they should be done away with.

Overall it's not porn. Get over it.

    If you don't see this 'C=3', ( . Y . ), (), or an ass with no undies, it isn't porn.

I personally don't like seeing any images of suggestive means on any public site.
If it happens on our goldsite, I immediately delete the avatar/sig and warn the user not to do it again.
    My reasons for this:

    1. Children are also browsing these forums/watching with their older brother/sister/parents etc.
Would you like your little brother or sister to see some of these images?

    2. People are also browsing Sythe on their work.
Mind, people also are allowed to do whatever they want on some jobs.
You don't want to show your co-workers suggestive images when they walk by, right?
You don't want customers walking by to see suggestive images, right?
You don't want your boss to see suggestive images when he/she comes by, right?

The argument 'you shouldn't be on Sythe at work' is not a valid argument.
No work is the same, nor are the bosses.
If you're allowed to browse whatever you want, would you go browsing a site filled with suggestive images?
You would not, and that's why this argument isn't valid.

    3. Now for a little personal example.
I work pretty weird hours at the moment (15:00 to 21:00 6 days/week) so I don't have much time to spend after work with my girlfriend.
To spend time anyways she often sits beside me while I work.
She's got a laptop, and we watch some movies/shows whenever I have to work.
Because she is next to me she can see anything on my screen.
Do I like it when my girlfriend sees suggestive/highly suggestive/nude images? Nope.
While she now knows what Sythe is about, I don't feel like having these images on my screen whenever I'm reading a post, and the person writing it has a suggestive image.
Why not? Because I don't want her to think I'm looking at those images for my pleasure.

I'm on very good grounds with my girlfriend, don't get me wrong, but I don't want to have to explain stupid stuff that other people do.

    tl;dr:
I don't want to see any suggestive/semi-suggestive/pornographic/whatever images on Sythe, nor any other site.

Doesn't matter what it suggests or implies, if it isn't porn than it ISN'T. I don't see what the issue is.
