I'm of the opinion that laptops in general aren't an *ideal* way to go for gaming, I also know that pre-built computers always have a hefty markup on components. That being said the rig is certainly powerful enough for modern gaming and asus is an excellent way to go when it comes to gaming laptops. If a gaming laptop is what you were after I think you made a good choice.
Not only for gaming, but yea, that's also something I'd be using it for. Desktops are better, undoubtedly, but I hate them.
You could get more for your money and with better features out of an MSi. Not a bad laptop, but I would not have bought it.
I agree with this, plus you should of just built your own PC would have been better but the laptop you got is still good. Any pictures?
Nice laptop, but a 4 cell battery w/ a GT750M = 30 minutes of battery life if you're lucky.. lol. If you're planning on using it as a desktop replacement, then it'll work fine. Don't expect to do much with it without being tethered to a charger, however.
It's a very poor choice in relation to value over time, because of the simple fact that you can't upgrade it like you can a desktop. In 2 years, you probably won't be able to play the latest games at highest detail anymore. Whereas a desktop, all you have to do is pop in a new graphics card! And you probably would have spent a lot less money building it. Just my opinion, and maybe you have deep pockets? So it probably doesn't matter.
You can go with a 800-1000$ ASUS pushing W8. I've been downgrading over the past 3 years seeing as how these companies are improving all their gear S the years go by. My current rig is ASUS costed like $854 at the time. Every game I've played runs on Ultimate 60 FPS.
Hellz ye worth better than the shitty 4gb i have lol hell ye worth man im getting a gaming pc for income tax hell ye.
I love gaming desktops much more than I do for laptops. But aside from that, laptops do have there upsides. I mean for god sakes, you can take it anywhere with you and with a desktop you have some huge block. My next purchase may be a gaming laptop.
I much prefer laptops as they can literally be taken anyway, gaming laptops work well with a good mouse
Used it at Uni all semester. Runs on battery for 4-5 hours on high performance (LoL, movies, etc). Bump xd.
I was actually gonna get the same but apple had sales for their late 2013/early 2014 macbook pro range and I really only needed a laptop for work and decided for a mac. Haven't regretted buying it since. Though as you are looking to game with it, it should run modern games fine though playing games like LoL require no performance, my macbook pro runs it just fine even though I've only played about 2 hours of games on it.
They go together in a sentence just fine. They're just not cheap. Someone obviously hasn't heard of the clevo p377's or the upcoming MSI gt80 laptops...complete with SLI 980M Graphics and so forth. Clevo even offers a particular model with desktop CPU's, such as the i7-4790k. I don't think laptop gaming has ever been better. Did I mention the GT80 is coming with a full-size mechanical SteelSeries keyboard integrated into it?
