Curious if anyone has StraightTalk, and if it's worth it. I'd like to know how the plan works, how the service is, and how you go about signing up for it. I've looked at their website, and I don't know if I'm just an idiot but I can't find where you'd sign up for service. They have a page that shows you the prices but no buttons to start an application process or anything like that...

I actually use it currently. I have had no problem with it since it uses ATT Network. The only one regret I have is that if you pass 2.5gb of data, the speed drops down to basically nothing other than just checking you emails. Signing up isnt really the issue just order the sim card and then just use the prepaid card with it. Btw if you use the refill service on ebay its even cheaper.

Do phones have to be optimized specifically for StraightTalk, or can I use any unlocked phone with their service? Also. I thought the point of straighttalk was not having to deal with prepaid cards or refills :<

I work at at AT&T reseller and I use it. Only problem, which is mentioned above, is that after reaching a point on your data usage it is throttled making it pretty much unbearable to use.

Such companies do the same thing with their unlimited data, T-mobile, sprint, etc. That is how they are still able to offer unlimited data.

You can use nearly any smartphone as long as you get the appropriate straight talk sim card.

It uses ATT's network so coverage should be good if ATT coverage is good in your area. You can use any unlocked phone, you will need to get a ST sim card at Walmart or online, http://www.straighttalk.com/wps/portal/home/shop/sims
