Your Opinions on Tattoos?

Hey guys. So I've been thinking about getting a few tattoo's once I hit 18, as I find it pretty cool that you could express yourself through the symbols/words you have on your body. I've been given numerous opinions regarding tattoos, most people generally disliking the idea as it makes you look like a "prisoner", to name a few of their arguments.

But what do you guys think? Do you think of people with tattoo's differently to those that don't? Are they only for prisoners in your opinion? Thanks

 

This is entirely my own personal opinion, but I would not get one. I don't like them.

Don't get me wrong, everybody has the right to express themselves via ink, but they're a total turnoff on women for me.

Well I can agree that on women, being tatted out doens't look too good. However, a butterfly on their shoulder blade or something at the back of their neck is pretty attractive to me...the ones that have their entire sleeve tattooed looks bad.

There's different styles when it comes to tattoos, i'm covered in them, but as mine are all full colour and traditional/neo-traditional, i wouldn't say i look like a prisoner

Personally, i really like tattoos on women, but there is a fine line when it comes to making them look butch, or beautiful.

One thing i will say is, take your bloody time deciding what to get, i have no regrets, but once it's in your skin, there's no easy way of going back

I personally wouldn't get one myself. However, I have friends that do, and I've got nothing against them/don't judge people differently.

In today's society however, people are prone to judgement, and unfortunately tattoos are still one of those taboo things/subjects that relates to assumptions being made about oneself, in most cases negative.

 

I see nothing wrong with tattoos. I plan on getting a few of them soon.

Tattoos on women can be sexy, at the same time a turn off. I like a nice tattoo on their hip/shoulder blades. I actually dated a woman with tattoo's on her hip/shoulder blade/ankle, and I thought it was pretty sexy.

But at the same time, nothing on the arms (sleeves), or tramp stamps. Those are just turn off's for me.

i like tattoos, look for a design atm, maybe i weill get one soon^^ and i don't think much tatoos looks shit, that's everyone's personal opinion

I have a few, nothing wrong with them as long as it's not some random dragon or something, and not on the neck or hands, ect.

 

I don't like tattoos.

 

I personally like them, wouldn't get full body, fore arm. anything visible with clothes on. I would get a bicep band at some point but I would never get any words just patterns. Hopefully then the regret if there is any will be minimal

Don't get them just because you're hitting 18. The best advice I've heard has been "Settle on an idea, if you still like it in 6 months to a year - get it. Chances are most of the time you wont. It'll take a few ideas to find one you want to become permanent." I don't have any myself yet but I have been planning what to get for years. I will eventually have two full sleeves, a back-piece & a chest-piece.

I'll be getting a small one or two to test the waters and find out how much of a bleeder I am etc and then I'll be going for this in a few sittings: Japanese style koi sleeve

Do I treat tattoo'd people differently? Yes - in a good way. I love ink and I love people with ink. They're normally my kind of people. Alternative, interesting, etc.

Tattoo'd people only have bad connotations because tattoos all used to be shitty, fading, un-skilled pieces of drunken madness that your best friend's mum's boyfriend did for a tenner. Nowadays tattoos are popular, they look good and the tattoo equipment has greatly improved over the years. I hate people saying "you'll regret that when you're older", yeah, and you'll regret being a boring old bastard when you're older -.- Don't get me wrong, I can't stand tramp stamps and badly done shit. Just like badly done hair or badly done food. But they look awesome when well done and when you pay the money for it. Why not be unique and mark the good times and memories on your skin forever? I wont regret getting any, even when I'm old, they'll look just as good because tattoos are able to last that long when properly taken care of these days.

if you want to have one, you should think about it and if you like them and you really want one (or more), just do it

Well, i may or may not be the most heavily tattooed on sythe.

But, depends on the reasons for getting them I suppose.

I like the idea of not be able to have a lame job, any job worth having doesnt require you to "look the part", so it forces success upon myself.
