Oldschool Runescape community growing!

Wow! I believe this is the most amount of players we've had in a long time. Almost 20k online as compared to 15k! What do you guys think?

Looks like oldschool runescape isn't actually gonna die. I see this game eventually becoming the main game and taking over rs3 in player count

I'm hoping it doesn't die. The approaches they're taking with updates and the community are awesome.

 

Exactly man, and the fact that we can never have a bad update (because everything is community voted) really makes it awesome. I know its eventually gonna die, but if jagex keeps putting out new content that we vote for, then it'll be atleast 5-7 years before that happens

 

If they just slowly build it up so it eventually turns pre eoc it would be pretty good. Who knows what will happen via some major game updates like dung and summoning though. Also if they made it f2p and changed 10 or so worlds over to f2p it would allow new players to rs3 to come over to old school and give it ago, resulting in boosting the numbers up even more.

 

After giving up on runescape a year + ago, I've just recently come back. I'm glad to see this growth and that I'm not waisting my time building a pure. Although f2p pking is without a doubt dead, which sucks (I'm building a 40 attack pure, and I'm sticking with it)...

 

07 Scape would be more populated than RS 3 if it was available to F2pers..

 

I agree 100%. I believe this is also a reason why Jagex will not allow f2p on oldschool runescape.

 

I think they're not banning botters, been going hard on 10 accounts for 3 weeks now nearly suicide botting...

Yeah man you're probably just going lucky. Jagex don't really have a stable bot catching system on 07, so I wouldnt be surprised

 

Mhm.. They want RS3 to be their main thing and if 07 is more populated consistently, it won't be.

 

This is good cuz I love 07 I really hope jagex add f2p to 07 it will definitely make the population increase by a lot. The current updates they have been putting into the game have been good in my opinion and I hop they continue

 

They don't want to see that people would rather play a 6 year old version of the game than play their shitty, watered down, ugly, 2013 Ruinedscape 3. The new interface system, new armor update (graphical update), and EoC destroyed that game.

It's really encouraging to see such a growth taking place in old school! Perhaps they are mostly from new bots account while the staff are away for the holiday and thus not banning them.

 

Damn you just ruined all of our hopes with that one lol............

If the growth continues, I may actual begin playing this game again. I didn't have much faith that it would stay around to be honest, however this is great news. Really exciting. Looking forward to seeing how this plays out in the next couple months.

Just don't ruin this game too jagex.. >.<

 

Awesome man! Nah they wouldn't ruin it, every update is polled and voted on by the community..so that basically ensures we won't have another "eocscape" lol

The holidays (and holiday gift money :3) really seemed to bolster the playerbase nicely. It seems like a lot of previous members, and even some newer ones, are into the game actively.
