Do you bot for commercial reasons or personal?

Just wondering, do you all bot to train your accounts and afford better gear for them or is it purely for commercial reasons.

Personally, I only bot to make money as I've been over RS for a few good months (about time; only took 10 years -.-).

Finally installed new fans in my PC, now I can get back to doing 20+ accounts on my main PC.

This is only 8 bots:

 

I dont bot for money, I make all that staking

But yeah, I only bot to train my account up, especially with 07, cba doing everything all over again, so I just bot.

Already been banned once tho

 

That was my first thought upon OSRS's release, I wasn't going to do alllllllll that training by hand .

 

I did the first few months legit, but as soon as wbot came out (first 07 bot), never trained legit again haha

 

I still wonder to this day why they randomly closed down.

 

When I did bot it was SWs, got a good few 99s in a short period with that bot. sold the accounts after using them for a bit, so a lil' bit of both.

Jagex brought them to court I believe. They didn't have the tos that said "you must not be a jäger employee to enter this site"

 

Yeah but just because they have a ToS that says something doesn't necessarily mean they can enforce it. If Jagex entering the site does no damage to wBot, they can't do anything. There was a lot of speculation that it had to do with wBot selling it off to a gold farming site as a private bot. That way they had a monopoly on the market.

 

Only for comericial reasons. Haven't physically played Runescape since two weeks after the release of old school.

 

I always bot a personal account for pking/pviming.

 

I never botted my personal account, when 07 came out I tried goldfarming but my accounts got assraped pretty hard.

I bot for money, basically.

Don't have any reason to play anymore, been 10+ years now.

 

I personally only bot for cash now. Botting stats seems to just be worthless now as you're so likley to get banned botting. I bot for a day or two, then transfer the cash and repeat. yet to be banned on the botter yet if I am I won't have much of a loss at all

 

Used to bot for cash was great having a few accounts and making the mills, now the bans are too high and easier just to host your own pc's for set money per month and make cash that way. If I could script that's where the money IMO>

 

I bot for stats not for money.

 

I spent the last year botting an 07 character on and off with the intentions of pking, but during this time I actually lost my addiction to Runescape. I have to say, looking back on it, I can't believe I ever played this game. I even only use these forums for the League of Legends section.. slightly off topic but yeah, similar to OP 8 years later i'm finally off this time sink good luck to everyone else who is still hooked haha

 

Thanks for the replies guys. It was interesting to read. Runescape botting would be far more profitable had the scripts/clients been more difficult to use/less available. Not sure why I said that, just food for thought.
