So whats with gold4rs?

gold4rs --> gold4fun --> playkiller --> rs3pal? (

I probably missed a few but here are the domain name changes I've seen:

gold4rs --> gold4fun was to remove rs from the domain name
gold4fun --> playkiller was supposedly to have a more genertic name so they could incorporate other mmo's (didn't happen?)
playkiller -- > rs3pal (?) Also weird that they would put rs back into the domain..



The hell is going on?

yer every time in recent months the domain name has changed is because they've been shut down. I laughed when I went onto their website at one point and it said "Domain closed, Reason: n/a" muwhaha

It's basically the fact that jagex is a legal company and those Chinese slave runners can't do shit against them. I doubt this even goes near any courts.

Jagex would probably need to go to court to seize the domain names / there is already an existing court order.

Interested to see what the deal is.

 

I havnt personally looked into it further and well things like this were an online company is cracking down on an illegal entity off of their own business are often kept strictly professional. I havnt seen any leaks of information into the proceedings but it sure would be interesting to see

 

Jagex has runescape copyrighted, along with every item in the game. They own your accounts, and that is stated in their website. Also, they can shut down any website breaking their in game rules because they have all the rights to.

 

No they don't. Breaking their games terms and conditions does not give them any authority over another website. The only thing they can remove websites is if they are breaking intellectual property or copyright laws.

 

It is copy right related. I don't see why jagex goes through all the trouble tbh, they just make a new site lol

 

It's because of JaGeX + they have multiple domains for the one company as a method of attracting in more customers, I think?

Not really all considered. With the staff/website/advertising etc that they had to constantly maintain the pricing is pretty much justified. I've never heard any problems with gold delivery, most issues with them have have been account sales or services. That type of thing.

Not really, if they were smart they'd just have another domain ready to go as soon as their current one gets busted.

Buddy of mine asked me that too. Seems they've vanished.He said the site he thought it was wouldn't accept his previous log-in credentials...which it would when they changed.

Seems to have a similar layout, could be them.

Edit: Livechat person said they're different, but barely understood me, soooo seems like it still could be them lmao.
