Does runescape slow down a computer?

I know this is sort of runescape related but I feel as if my results will be better gauged coming from the people that are good with technology in this forum.

Does Runescape slow down computers? I've had a few computers and they always seem to end up slow. I have a new i5 I bought and I'm wondering if its a pattern that continues to occur for a reason? Should I not play runescape on the new computer if I plan on just playing runescape for a few weeks as to not slow it down? Or is there a way to make it as good as new after these few weeks? Thanks in the future for the replies.

 

Computers just generally do get slower over time. I believe it's cause of all the updates ect. As far as I'm concerned, Runescape bares no impact on slowing down a computer.

 

No, Runescape doesn't slow down a computer. Windows just gets slower and slower as you use it. You're best bet if you want to speed it back up is to do a fresh install of Windows.

 

Depends, if you're running rs3 on an old computer, or rs2007 on an gaming pc.

 

I believe it won't. Runescape is just a process as labelled on the Task Manager and you can stop the process anytime.

 

Runescape runs perfectly fine for me, try a new pc maybe.

RS3 always turn off my computer if it is running for 3-5 minutes. OSRS runs perfectly fine. Runescape doesn't slow down my computer.

 

Definitely doesn't. As others have stated, it's a process in the background, but it won't permanently slow down your computer if that's what you're asking.

 

It isn't runescape. All computers eventually begin to slow down. Even installing a fresh copy of windows eventually will not bring the speed that you had on day 1.
