By introducing these into the game, do you think normal santa hats will crash in price? not sure if I should offload mine now or not :s

 

Honestly, I'd get rid of it, anyway, to be safe. Then watch the market for them for the next few months.

Santa hats were 160m+ before black Santa was announced, they immediately sank to current prices. I would say they've crashed already. I haven't been on in a couple days but I'm assuming Santa is still ~130m like the last time I got on.

 

I think those who are americans should protest [ especially the african americans] this is not right!

 

God... why does Jagex insist on watering down meaningful content. At least it isn't as bad as the damn prestige highscores system.

 

Jagex called the black santa hats ultra rares on the forums, a lot of people are probably going to dump theirs causing the prices to drop. So I would say to sell yours as well unless ur not merching the rares then keeping it for fun doesn't affect you in anyway

 

I don't think normal santas will crash (they might drop a bit due to everyone freaking but will go up again after everything settles). They are old rares. If anything black santas might end up below normal santa price when the prices are stable unless they are rarer.

Fish mask is 1m. Weren't they meant to be rare too? Christmas tree hat is 17m. These are all gimmicks made to get people to continue to subscribe or to get new subscribers. The proper (red) santa hats will stabalise in price and because they are much rarer (with people quitting), they'll still always be on the up. These new rares still have a long way to go to really become what we all consider "rare".

 

It seems like the Black Santa hat is a good bit rarer than the Christmas Tree Hat + Fish mask though. We will have to see.

However, to me, the Black Santa Hat looks ugly as sin.

 

I heard they were going for around 425m on streets. Already seen 3 people with it though, so i doubt price will be that high for long.

 

What's the likelyhood if they get too popular/rare they get marked untradeable?

i reckon black santas will soar in price and normal will drop. but they wont drop too low, they should be around 100m.

 

They will not drop as red Santa hats will not get any more common. It is still a rare item and it will even out eventually

 

keep to make it rarer.

 

Keep it , even though they *may* decrease, discontinued items will eventually raise up in price,
You may think why the fish mask wasn't that rare, because it was a common or easy to obtain from squeal, whereas the black santa has a 1/10k or a 1/2k chance from the cracker.
After the 15 days are over, I say wait and you will see it slowly but surely increase in price.
