If cancer was cured...

I am willing to bet that if you met anyone who has been in a war, they would disagree with you 100%. People suffer tremendously in wars.

 

Tyro, then what about polio and other such diseases? We were eventually able to contain them. Confinement is basically the same as vaccine. Not everybody got the shot, but eventually we tracked them all down and for the most part except a few people in the world, polio is gone.

Not saying we should confine people at all.

And shame on anybody in this forum who said anything about genocide. Thats disgustingly greedy. Im pretty sure we learned as kids to share. If something gets taken away or our resources are limited, we dont go killing people. fags.

 

We fuck our planet over every time we find a cure for something that kills millions. But that being said some of us wouldn't even be born if the case were we didn't find cures. I've had 3 family members die of cancer since i was born(Nans twin sister and 2 aunties)

I think its selfish that we fight it in order to save ourselves which in turn fucks over the future

Indeed, death is inevitable. However, would you or anybody who gives a damn about you be satisfied of dying right this minute? I really don't understand. Why should people's lives be shortened just because they truly are unlucky? What if they were productive members of society. Take my suggestion:

Cure the cancer patients, kill the criminals. Overpopulation is resolved and society is improved. Less tax money to pay for jails and government expenditures.

Now imagine this scenario:

What if some brilliant minds are diagnosed with a terminal cancer. If they are capable of developing some innovative invention to benefit society, would you just let him die because of "overpopulation?"

 

You get cancer, then you can make this thread.

A moronic claim it may seem to you, yes, but you can't ever expect a utopia. Go kill as many criminals as you want, more will come up. Even if they do ruin people's lives, that's what they have to do for themselves, for their own living. Don't act as if you're the most modest person around here, because you too, would pull a trigger when forced to for your own survival.

So you're saying animals have no lives of their own? Then why do people treat dogs so dearly? Because they're cute and furry? I was giving a comparison between how you treat humans as creatures who should live to their fullest, whereas animals should just die and be eaten. Can't you be content with what life you've been given?

 

Tell me, what is more likely: a person forced to commit a crime for his "survival" or just a person with poor virtues and morals? If he or she is willing to kill someone to ensure his survival, wouldn't he/she be willing to just... I don't know... get a job? It's really not as hard as it seems, with all the organizations and welfare. And what the hell? You'd take criminals over people diagnosed with cancer? Criminals made a bad decision while as most cancer patients have no choice.

Also, when did I bring up ANYTHING about animals? I never once, in any of my posts, state that dogs or any animals should die. Quite frankly, I don't care if they die or not and I'm not one that supports the killing of those animals. I'm one of those people who volunteer to save dogs, not eat them. We can't assume animals don't fear death, there's no possible way of knowing aforementioned.

i think like this all the time. it is true. plus i heard there is a cure for cancer but it will never be released because pharmaceutical companies would lose way too much, etc, etc. but also on the note of curing cancer, perhaps if one day we can settle on other planets (probly wont happen before human species is extinct anyways but whatever) this would solve problem of overpopulation and we could then release cures for these things and then focus on elongating the lives of individual humans.

Like USA in comparison to india is quite underpopulated haha,Glad i live in the USA. I really do fear overpopulation withen the next 50 years becoming a problem in the USA. But there'd probably be much worse stuff going on by then.

I do agree to some extent. Cancer and similar things are bad, yes, but without it, what do you think the world population would be at right now?

On the other hand if Cancer was cured there'd be no need to pay for research into it, counselling and other support services around for Cancer today, so we would save a lot of money at least.

 

Cancer being cured is nothing but good. If overpopulation is that much of a problem in the future, there could be stricter child rules.

 

I don't know. I don't think curing it would affect the population as much as you think but I guess it will help overpopulation. If we overpopulate we would either run out of supplies or the next black plague would come and then population crash. Nature will take care of itself and will either control the population for us or just remove us.
