Amazon purchases -> Giftcard ballance

Hey, so today I wanted to purchase something on Amazon, I never made purchase here before. I have $46 giftcard ballance, I wanted to use it. I seen an offer $35+ orders free shipping. I decided to order it as it was nearly $37, I put my delivery address, my personal details etc, then it asked me to enter my credit card number + name, is that because there's additional delivery fee or something? I'm abit confused about it because I don't want to be charged on my CC for that purchase if there are any *hidden* costs

 

They do that incase the order exceeds yourr balance, in that case they will charge your card if it does exceed, but it most likely wont.

 

Try filling it out and then check the final page. You'll see where your payment will be coming from there before anything is finalized. I'd be very surprised if it's not just using your giftcard balance.

 

It is probably because of the shipping option. This only happened to me when I bought something from Amazon that I didn't have enough on the Amazon gift card balance.
