shocking. I understand affluenza can cause say heartlessness or lack of empathy but in no way should he not be held at fault for this like any other person would. it's not like he's a robot or can't comprehend killing people.

the worst bit for me is hearing one of the passengers can now only blink his eyes because he's that badly paralysed, what a horrible horrible life.

 

Just read about that in the papers about 2 minutes ago. The "aflluenza" pretty damn hilarious. I hope the prosecution appeals

This punk goes to a school about 5 miles down from mine. It is very appalling hearing about this. One of the worse conclusions I have ever heard. To think all those articles on Dreamin Demon had bad excuses. How is this a logical reasoning at all? I had a freedom lifestyle as well and got what I wanted, but I knew what I was doing from right and wrong and had respect for everyone before being a teenager. He should be charged with involuntary manslaughter at the minimum and get a jail sentence. I have no sympathy for anyone who drinks and drives.

 

I hope there is going to be an appeal. If anything, the family of the victims should file wrongful death suits and any other lawsuits that are befitting. Granted, his parents will take full brunt of the financial burden of the lawsuits but, honestly why would I care, since they raised a kid without any moral compass.

 

Completely ridiculous... I heard about this the other day, I can't imagine how the families of the victims must feel. People like this make me sick.

 

It's insane how money can completely flip the result of a court case in every legal system in the world. Sometimes I question whether the judges are handed cash under the table.

 

Hopefully its appealed or a civil suit is filed. If anything wouldn't this apply more to children raised in poor families, where they could be taught to steal ect. He used the fact he wasn't raised with morals does that not apply to these people more so than him?

Remember he didn't get away without any consequences. He got 10years probation. Even one slip up and the judge sends his ass to prison. Was he facing 2-20 years of prison already and was saved only because he was raised without sense of right and wrong? Yes, but I honestly think his rehabilitation would be better for him. Everyones sense of justice seems a bit off for me. "Yea the little bastard needs to rot in jail". This brings in the question of are harsher prison sentences/punishments good? Some countries with the lowest crime rates in the world believe in rehabilitating.
