The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug

I'm off to see it tommorow with my girlfriend in HFR 3D.

What do you think of Peter Jackson's latest installment of the Pre-LOTR Tolkien Universe?

 

I can't wait to see it!

Didn't think the first one lived up to the lord of the rings, but then again it's almost impossible to do so. It just felt to 'childish'

that being said, i'd pay to see anything remotely linked to Lord of the rings,they are my favourite books and movies and I just love the tolkien world.

 

It was meant to be more childish though, but still, I kinda got bored with the first one - hoping this one's a little better

I can't wait to see it! Hopefully I'll be able to watch it sometime this week.

 

I have to wait until Boxing Day to see it... :'( Looks great though. The first one, for me, was a character building movie.

 

Keen to see Evangeline Lilly in it. I however dislike the young-centric approach the last one had. Hopefully this one doesn't disappoint.

Saw it yesterday. Definitely better then the first one, but I was quite pissed at how the movie ended.

 

was it an end leading on to the next one, or just a bad ending?:huh:

 

I enjoyed it more than the first one. Smaug looked great in HFR, though it makes some CGI look blatantly obvious.

 

I watched this movie last night in 3d and I enjoyed every second of it. I'm such a sucker for these movies.

 

i saw it today but i think the first lord of the rings movie was the best

 

I fell asleep during the first installment. Not going to see this one, most likely.

 

This isn't part of LoTR as such.

 

Was the movie any good? I've been thinking about watching it for a while but can't decide.

 

I did also, but then again doing a LotR marathon before seeing the Hobbit was a bad idea.

 

I really want to see this, i enjoyed the 1st one

 

Not saying this was bad, but it just lacked the story to keep me interested for the 2+ hours. Hoped to see more of the backstory revealed but seeing Legolas getting beaten by a troll that he would usually 1 shot from 500million miles away made me go "meh, that's so cool". It should have been a bit shorter to make it a great movie for me.
