New updates by Paypal! Safer payments now?!

Earlier last month Paypal made a post saying "Up coming updates" they went on to tell us that they will upgrading their security systems for secure payments.

Earlier today Paypal put one of their updates into practice, when sending a two payment earlier i had to confirm a phone call this is one of the changes they have implicated into their site having phone verification before a payment is allowed to be sent.

What do you guys think?? will Paypal be more safer to sell gold on or not?

 

Not really any safer.


Either a) its the persons own paypal account and they charge back or b) its a stolen paypal in which case they will use one that doesn't have phone verification enabled


They're nice features, but I don't think it helps much in terms of gold trading really.

 

I mean its just 1/5 updates, cants wait to see the new things they incorporate.

 

That's nice, it eliminates 'Double payments sent by mistake' scam

 

I hope they do something about chargebacks.

 

I hope they don't, the whole point of Paypal is for it to be safe for the buyer. If they eliminated any sort of chargeback, it would defeat the whole purpose of their system.

 

I am talking about from a legit buyer/sellers point of view.

 

Im hoping the other 4 updates will really help make pp an even better way to trade

 

Well in that case, I hope they keep adding features to reduce the number of successful fraudulent chargebacks.

 

I think this hurts legitimate buyers that get screwed though. I wish they'd put a lot more effort into handling them. Apparently if it's a dispute over virtual things, they don't even bother looking into it really. Not sure if that's true but that's what I've heard, and if that's true I think that's a bit unfair to the sellers.

 

They don't need to make it safer they need to make it fucking bearable to use lol.

Well pp is still the worst payment method around

 

That is true, as when i rang up paypal they told me that the buyer protection doesn't cover virtual items.

 

I just sent a $550 payment and I had to phone verify. It's really annoying however the benefits of the safety feature is nice.

 

Yeah for those who actually have verified phone though.

 

I mean if your actually worried about keeping your account safe you would put the phone number on it

 

Fees to fat on PayPal, masspay and small things are the only time I use PayPal, BTC is such a better option. PayPal is also coming out with their own 'coin' but no doubt that would defeat the whole reason people use BTC.

 

I'm hoping these new updates completely change their system as it's a burden to accept Paypal as a payment method. I like the idea of a phone verification system, most online banking forces you to do it for higher transfers.

 

I think that is what is happening, the hole system is going to get updated on one of the last updates.
