Goldfarmers & China.

In no way whatsoever am I trying to be racist.
Why does the majority of gold farmers & sellers reside from asia, and particularly china? So many gold sites they can hardly speak english and it's a pain waiting for your payment. Lots of people you will add on skype that have ZERO vouches, One person was selling gold at a reasonable price so I contacted them on skype and offered OMM and this was their response "Sorry Rules Company say we cant trust". I don't understand why the majority of it is from asia, is it true there is actually job postings for selling gold?

 

Its cheaper to employ in China, this has been the case for many years so major companys resell gold on many games (world of warcraft, diablo, gw, ect) so if you want to make as much as you can, you try to sell gold on as many games as you can.

 

An exchange student in my school is from china and her dad is a gold farmer so they must make quite good money if they can send their child to a ski resort .

 

They probably do, if it isn't profitable enough they wouldn't have companies and such... Although I don't think there's any massive gold farms in Hong Kong, there are probably individuals who do a lot of this stuff.

 

Labor in China is cheap, and I mean REALLY cheap

 

Cheap labor, no doubt.

 

Cheap labour under slavery conditions.

 

As for as I'm aware of there're only 3 major 'gold farming' companies in China. These companies are not gathering the gold themselves, they don't even keep their own stock. All gold is bought just-in-time based from the lower class people in this business who're actually gaming to earn money. Some of these gamers don't earn more then $1,- daily.

Because of the language difficulty no English speaking company can cooperate with these gamers. I believe this is the mean reason why the market is ruled by Asia. They also dominate market prices on all games because of this.

These bigger companies have tons of website each instead of one platform for all games. This is a recent change in the gaming industry. As of now the website with the best search results on Google earn by far the most.

Then we've goldseller from forums with their own websites, they have way less turnover then the big fishes around. One of the partners I work with right now does have a turnover of $50k daily based, this is one of the three big fishes around if the information he gave to me is correct.

what are the companies offices like? I can't imagine anything else but a western looking office with loads of people in suits.

Ye i agree its insane how much they can make however like MMORPG said these are big fishes. Then again im sure there are many others who make decent profit as well

 

so they make 18 million dollars a year? right.

 

If 50K/Year is a ********, a small small fish is okay with me. At least I'd still be in the same species as these beasts.

 

To even make $50k/year you have to realise that you would need tons of resources so it's not as easy as it sounds.

 

You must have misread it a little. Turnover is not profit, turnover minus all costs are profit . Their profit margin is in a range of 5-20% depending on what platform they can deliver. If they were making 50k$ on daily base I would have migrated a long time ago to China, still it's not a bad earning.

How large are these companies? How many employees?

 

The one I know has 27 employees total. Not sure what they're all doing over there. I assume they're split in separate sections such as gold, pl, accs, pr, advertising. Then as told above those 27 employees are not gamers themself, they only set-up trades and act as middle man for the deal.

Well,if all of you was Chinese you will do the same.
With that huge population i am sure it's not so easy to find a job and everyone needs to eat.
Gold farming is regular job there from many years.
I know few Chinese and i can't say any bad word against them.
They are normal peoples,with normal jobs looking for normal life same like everyone.
Yeah,we all know they ruin the markets everytime but it helps the inflation if u think about it.
Just because they are many and they are working cheap,making them one step forwart than most of us. Creating team for anything there is not so hard

 

As my father always told me back in 2002, China's economy will take over within 20 years from now. Looks like he's right about that.

I Agree, they're very normal. It's just another culture with another motivation then people from the west countries. Honestly I like their attitude, I used to partner up with a 27 yo Chinese dude with a wife and a kid, awesome times! Then we must say they also need to chillout sometimes
