Pardon Problem @ Mods - You're Doing it Wrong.

It's not in the rules that you must respect the staff.

i never said it was in the rules, i'm talking about a basic human respect for other people that some mods seem to have lost due to their power

 

It's always been a pet peeve of my when mods say "yes" or "no" in any form to a pardon before there have been repayments.

The rule has always been clear that pardons are not to be considered before repayments take place. That rule makes a lot of sense. It forces the one seeking a pardon to be sincere in their request, preventing people from making a pardon request with the intention of repaying only if it is approved on the condition of repayment.

 

I don't see how someone can even ask for pardon without paying the victim first,thats sounds ridiculous.

 

I Think the main issue here is that there was a small window of opportunity to make some headway in making amends with the person who was scammed initially. No offense to any of the staff members here or who posted in that thread. But that was no way shape or form professional. You did not hurt said person by not allowing him to return, Instead you have delayed the process of the people being scammed repaid. I am not entirely sure how the whole pardoned system works as I have been gone many years. But why would there not be a system in place where scammer X must pay a percentage of total debt back and make X amount of payments over said time to be pardoned. Along with an official do not trade until all debts are resolved.

 

I think ultimately the non-constructive hateful comments posted by the staff (i.e. "fuck off") don't give the site a good image. Imagine a judge saying "guilty for murder, you life taking scum". May they think it? sure. Does it undermine the judicial process if they say it? Definitely. Is it really that hard to control your emotions and instead say something along the lines of "You've made a hugely negative impact on this site, so it's doubtful we'll ever let you back, but pay back everyone you owe, make another remorseful pardon, and we'll take it from there"

Even this I disagree with. It still shows bias towards not letting them back regardless if they repay or not. There should simply be a bland, unbiased statement that the mods can all copypasta and use.

 

We've been here with Weasel before, and he fucked off and donated a large sum to Spyike instead of paying his debts. He doesn't mention this in his pardon, thus why I said hes full of shit.

If he wants to prove me wrong he can pay back his victims and I'll eat my words, which is what I'd like to see happen, but I'm 100% sure he won't.

If he truely does regret what happened and really wants to pay them back, what I said will not stop him. If however he does not pay them back because of what I said, it proves my point that he is scum.

I will never respect somebody like him unless he does something to earn it, such as paying back his victims without knowing he will get something in return.

 

It's harsh to the person pardoning, that could give off a "not even if you paid back" feeling. Especially when that person said he would pay the victims back.

The amount weasel chargedback is in the 4 digits, this is something that should be handled carefully.

Now who still thinks weasel will still pay back the victims? No one would write such a long report if weasel was actually right and the guy who reported gohan just did it for teh lulz. His not giving a shit response tells me "why should I pay if I cant come back" on this situation, and I hope I am wrong.

 

He said he would before, and ended up donating that money elsewhere instead of paying back his victims. This is what earned him his "fuck off", and if he'd like to change that, he should start by paying them back.

He doesn't need our help, he has access to his paypal so he can easily find out who got chargedback. We're not going to dick around with him forever, I have no problem with letting someone who got caught up in an honest mistake be pardoned if they're willing to cooperate, but hes fucked us around before.

It's not about who has earned their "fuck off". It's about offering incentive to repay his victims. If this time, even if it is an extremely small chance, he actually had intentions of doing this under the condition he thought he would be pardoned, that fuck off caused someone to lose a lot of money.

 

Exactly this. It doesn't matter how much of an asshole the user is, essentially saying fuck off to the individual is saying fuck off to his victims as the scammer will believe he won't get pardoned regardless of if he repays or not and so won't bother.

 

No one is asking you to "respect" him. We are just asking you to refrain from posting an opinion until he has repaid his victims. You want to know the best way to say "Fuck you" to weasel? Get the guy to repay all his victims, then tell him to fuck off. Now he's $1000+ poorer, all his victims are repaid, and he is STILL told to fuck off. Don't be so short-sighted.

 

I agree. Not only does it allow victims of scams to be paid back, but it also allows us to rub it in the face of such scammers asking for a pardon.

I don't want him to fuck off if he repays, I'm simply calling his bluff. If he repays I will actually give his pardon some consideration. But, as I stated, I think he's full of shit. Let him prove me wrong.

 

I don't see any issue with this. If the person hasn't paid back the people when the pardon is created, he should fuck off, because you're not supposed to even make one before rectifying the matter. I also don't agree with tricking people into thinking they have a hope of a pardon, just so they will pay people back.
