    My dog keeps itching

    Hello,

My dog is constantly gnawing and scratching around his lower end.
Often times he gets on his back and he looks like he is trying to use the carpet to scratch.

I'm assuming his scratching and biting is making him lose his hair but i'm not sure what is making him itch so much. Any ideas as what it could be? I didn't think it was serious enough for the vet.

This one is on his chest. He scratches there too.

Sorry the lighting makes his fur look kind of black in other images

Probably mites or fleas. Just treat him with spot-on flea treatment that covers mites.

Does the ticks and fleas shampoo not help against possible mites or yes since they are sorta like ticks?

I'll check out on the treatment tomorrow morning

Could be a couple things... Have you used a particular topical flea treatment for your dog recently? Some brands are known to have side effects like the above. Also it could be allergies. I suggest going to a vet

Doesn't look like fleas, honestly i'd say its the humidity get a humidifier or some lotion for the dog, probably just dry skin itching him.

I have not. Maybe I can give him some things that might soothe it

The same happened to my dog the other week, he had a flea. He's recovered now though, and the hairs pretty much grown back. Just buy some Flea Tick and Mite all in one shampoo. Eaasy.

He's obviously dropping pills if he's gnawing, lololol. Take him to the vets if the cream/shampoo and stuff doesn't work
