    Getting Back In The Mix

I used to do quite a bit of graphics about ~8 months ago I stopped. I took classes in school and whatnot for it as well. However my old computer well died and so did all the graphics and programs I had on it. It's been a bit and I know there has been some revisions so what's the best stuff out there right now?

If you mean programs, i would recommend photoshop and cinema 4d.
I have never used gimp, but i've heard it good.

Don't get c4d if you don't wanna be a market artist, if you're doing gfx for fun stay with photoshop and illustrator for example. C4d ruins tags imo
(if we're talking about text tags, it's good if you're making your own c4d renders to use in a box tag)

and please please i beg you don't download gfx packs, they're premade bs and i've never seen them used properly.

be original is the best don't fall in with the same style that you see around here. no offence to everyone but the best style is your own don't look at what's going on and just make your own concepts until they become successful.

What's the version of Photoshop/C4D/Illustrator I should look for? I'm kinda gonna go on a downloading spree for media programs again today because I finally figured out how to use the bay.

CS6 for Photoshop and Illustrator, not sure about C4D.

You might as well play around with C4D, if you have the computer for it, its pretty powerful. Try learning how the programs work with one another. Or how you go from concept to final product.
    >Design,
    >Scan,
    >Develop
    >clean up
    >Move programs,
    etc.

Its different for everyone. That might make a interesting thread actually, learning peoples processes.

First experience with Illustrator extremely confused me but I figured out how to make some cool brushes for photoshop.

the photoshop version you use is preference. i know professional designers who still frequent the cs3 version over the newer versions.

    "too poore to upgrade"

the updates are irrelevant. its personal preference. you're also a sub par artist working for minimum wage at McDonalds so your opinion is highly irrelevant.

in addition, your inability to read and process a sentence is appalling. how do you manage to operate in a society without being ostracized by the people who surround you. its amazing.
