Bitcoin help...

So,
I've had a bitcoin for a while now and while I'm reading the news the other day I see they're worth a grand so I decided to liquidate before the bubble bursts. I sent my bitcoin (or .99 of it due to transaction fee) from blockchain.info to mtgox so I can sell it for money on an exchange, but I haven't received it yet in my mtgox account. It says I have "3 confirmations", whatever that means.

Can someone plz explain/help before the bubble bursts and I lose this free cash?

Bubble wont burst. It was like $500 a week ago, and has been going up since because of the senate hearing. I never used bitcoin though, so I cant help you with your problem.

 

I still have no idea what the fuck a bitcoin is.
The only think i know is that you mine them and something something silk road.

 

You need either 6 or 8 conformations before it shows up.

dw, it needs ~6-8 confirmations before it'll send properly, after that it'll show up in your gox wallet.
Takes roughly ~30 mins-1hr on a quiet day, but should be cleared on a busy day within ~3hrs tops

 

After getting 6 confirmations the transaction is virtually impossible to reverse. They're just playing it safe and making sure they actually get the BTC.

 

If I'm understanding it correctly, every time a miner validates the transaction/finds a block, you get one confirmation, and that happens every 10 minutes
