DMT (Dimethyltryptamine) Why is it illegal?

First off, lets start with legalizing pot and then maybe keep the ball rolling..

People on hallucinogens have NO control of themselves. this can lead to a plethra of terrible things:

First: Salvia, similar longevity of effects compared to DMT. (10-20 mins if that)

Risk to both themselves, and others.. Also they have no mental capacity to think rationally when doing this shit. Absolutely no reason to make these legal.

 

I'll put a little personal story of mine into play. I haven't read fully through the thread and don't really care to. I figure some might be interested to know what this shit can do to people.

A few years ago I was out four-wheeling with a few friends in a fairly popular spot for people to go out off-roading and partying. I was with a few friends, and we were having a good time when we came across a few other people having a little group party around a fire..playing music and spinning flaming balls of whatever-the-hell-it-was.
Anyways, trying to be friendly, we joined the group for a little while to meet everyone and I came across a young Asian kid who was badly scarred all over his neck and face. All the other people in the group called him "Mouse" as he was small, skinny, and sounded squeaky like a mouse.
I asked him about his scars, and he told me his story about using DMT, and everything that happened with his first(and only) trial run. He explained to me that it basically causes your subconscious dreams to become your reality. While you are conscious and walking around in the real world, going about doing real things, you are in a subconscious state of mind....dreaming.
As you could imagine, if the dream gets weird then things could get bad...and in his case it did. He went into his kitchen and pulled out a small cheap knife and proceeded to stab himself in the face three times and the throat 5 more times, where the blade broke off inside his neck and he collapsed to the floor. His parents found him shortly after this had all happened, and rushed him off to the hospital. they had to cut his neck from the center of the collarbone halfway up to the corners of his jaw(like a big V) and peel back the neck in order to get the broken blade of the knife out.
he survived, though with a lot of permanent internal damage.

I don't like drugs of ANY variety. Everything from weed to stuff like this is perfectly fine in my books as being ILLEGAL, and I won't back down from my opinion and view on this. This dudes crazy experience is just further icing on the cake. Shit like this should never find its way into the public.

 

But the crime involved in getting him the drugs is ok though? If it was decriminalized it would at least take out the behind the scenes work of illegal activity to even get him the drug. this may not make sense because im also drunk ATM

 

I never said anything about getting the drugs or anything about any of it being okay. what I did say, though, is that I don't believe that anything like this should ever have ever found its way to the public.

 

Without getting into the rational for regulation of potentially harmful drugs which people are going to demand and supply and use regardless of the law, DMT is illegal because you can kill yourself using it and the potential for a psychotic episode is high.
