To all those that have purchased an xbox one, do you guys think it was worth it? Please post reasons why. I'm thinking of getting one as soon as my local shops get some more in.

I had mine delivered earlier this morning and only had a couple of hours on it when I finished work,
It's very nice in the looks sense,
The kinect sensor is much more accurate than on the Xbox 360,
You can do everything via voice commands,
The graphics are 110% better than the Xbox 360.

I'd say it's not quite worth the £400+ at the moment just because the games out on the console won't be anything better than the Xbox 360 for a while.

I'd personally wait until it reduces in the January sales.

Wait until about January to buy it unless you completely don't give a fuck about money you went from xbox360/ps3 release to now without one you can wait 2 months.

It's worth it. I love the interface, the Kinect is a little creepy but it actually makes games more fun. For example, in Dead Rising 3, I spoke into my Kinect, "over here!" at Zombies that were across a platform from me. The zombies ran over and plummeted to their death. I had a good laugh at that.

The NFL app is dope, you'd really like that given your interest in the NFL. I have really enjoyed Dead Rising 3 and Ryse. Definitely worth it. Definitely.

It will only get better as more people get onto Xbox Live and more games come out. I'm thrilled with my purchase.

aren't the media/tv apps pointless if you're not american? Because that's all it seems to have right now. The interface has got mixed reviews. Its scattered and all over the place. It discourages the use of using the remote to navigate the menu by having you go through multiple menus to get to where you want to go. Ryse and dead rising 3 have gotten terrible reviews but the kinect seems like a huge improvement so i guess there is that. Also by reviews online it seems that the ps4 is faster at having multiple apps open and switching between apps etc...and the graphics are noticeably better on ps4, Thats just what i have read in reviews and have seen on youtube. I have no experience with either console.

Dead Rising 3 didn't get that bad reviews. Also Xbox One is pretty lightning fast at changing too... I doubt it's not that noticeable. My friend has a PS4 and we do not see a huge different in app changing speed.

Also, what review sites are you even looking at? Trash sites like Metacritic or Ign???? Even IGN gave DR3 a solid 8.3 or so rating. DR3 is dope. I don't see a better PS4 title at the moment than that. Also Ryse got some unfair reviews in my opinion. I would say it's more of a rental game (not much replayability)...but it was aesthetically beautiful and incredibly well crafted.

I will agree though, with the reviews, that the Xbox One interface is a little bit more congested than the Xbox 360 was. I will have to get used to that.

Look, at the end of the day it's all about personal preference. The playstation 4 is a beautiful system in its own right. And I'm sure their exclusives will be leaving Xbox One fans salivating at the wish of having that game (especially when Developers like Naughty Dog get involved)

That said, the Xbox One has very pleasantly surprised me. I think it takes personal usage of these games to get an actual feel for if you like it or not. I think the IGN people are clueless honestly. And most of these review sites are littered with fan boys from one side of the console war, attempting to do nothing but falsify ratings (like the 90 + unverified 1 star ratings on the Xbox One within the first few hours of XB1 launch...and yeah the XB1 idiots did it on the Ps4 reviews too).

Not worth getting unless you're from the US, the price is much higher in other countries. You'd save like a hundred, if not a couple, dollars waiting for both the price to settle and games to be released.

Only way Im buying either consoles is if they release a game I cant resist like KH3 which wont be released till like 2015. Not saying Id buy it on 2015, Ill have to wait for a game that is just worth it.

This I completely agree with. And I do agree with you too Lame about the TV stuff.

For me, I've been a Franchise Fan of Dead Rising, so I had to pull the trigger.

For me I'm opting towards it since it seems to have more exclusives that I like

So are the TV apps basically redundant if you are outside of america? What other stuff is useless if you aren't in america?

Word. The general community seems to enjoy the game. Some people just can't get past a light time constraint in story mode (although you may be able to turn that off).

    Personally, I love it.

The only question i have about the one is the kinect optional? Or is it just automatically on no matter what.

Xbox One: Was it worth it?

Bought it 2 days ago. Played it for a couple of hours, gameplay seems to be pretty cool. The whole time constraint thing is a bit lame in my opinion but it is what it is. Wished it had splitscreen but oh well. It's a bit weird that humans are really hard to kill (especially the bosses) in comparison to zombies though lol.

I have played Madden with the kinect off, probably works with other games too

I wanted to get it for BF4, apparently the differences in feel, and graphics is just like two completely different games.

Care to elaborate on this? There really shouldn't be any differences between the two games at all.

Not played BF4 on One or 360, but, Fifa 14 feels TOTALLY different from old-gen.

My bad, I interpreted it as getting the xbox one over the ps4 for it being very different. Yeah Fifa would play a lot differently as it is running that new ignite engine. Same with Madden.

Humans, or fondly referred to as "psychopaths" in the earlier Dead Rising games, are generally supposed to be harder to kill than normal zombies...however in DR3, they are more powerful than they've ever been.
