    1. Ask for payments in gift.
    2. Ask them for ID. Name, address must match.
    3. Make sure their PP is Verified.
    4. Ask them to include the note saying something in the lines of 'I am the original owner of this account. Identification has been sent to prove account ownership. I will not chargeback this payment for virtual goods which I have received' . Add your own to this or edit to your liking.
    5. Refund payment if the note is not included & ask them to resend it.
    6. If the buyer rushes you & you feel uncomfortable, cancel the deal.

This is what i do to keep 0 chargebacks from all my trades

Also ask for pictures of their credit/debit card if they are using it. Black out 12 digits, leave the last 4. Bank account statement with their name visible, transaction statements blacked out if it is bank funded. Good luck with your sales!

Nothing you just said prevents chargebacks.

Chargebacks can occur after anything you do. Requesting ID is one of the best ways I believe to limit the chance of chargebacks. Taking Paypal from people who're deemd 'trusted' or to prevent chargebacks 100% is not to use Paypal.

If you can afford the loss if a chargeback does occur, then don't use Paypal.

Theres no surefire way of preventing chargebacks. My measures give added layers of security because the majority of those who file for chargebacks more often than not hijacked the account, stole the $, found a way of 'borrowing' the $ or decided to go YOLO. With what i said, it is harder for them to penetrate the layers & they would not want to compromise their identity in charging back.

P.S. You said none of my measures prevents chargebacks, yet you mentioned that requesting for id is the way to limit chargebacks. If people sent you their id, how many would dare to chargeback? Ive done many trades in many forums this way, easily thousands of $ & i have no chargebacks to date. Its all in how you conduct your business sir!

Sending as a gift and putting a note doesn't prevent anything getting I'd doesn't do anything either unless you know what to use the Id for.

Note is NOT binding confirmation. It's like delivery/item description between buyer and seller. Paypal wont even check it.
Sending payment as gift does not decrease chance of winning chargeback dispute in any way, it even makes it harder because it can be claimed as unauthorised transaction and they're the hardest ones to win. It can also get your paypal account limited and other guy's paypal account limited because of fees evasion.
Refunding payment and resending it wont help you, if you meant to send payment, open dispute, close dispute so another dispute can't be opened it can get your paypal account banned with all funds on it
That u dont get chargebacks means you're just lucky. If dispute is opened by using your techniques you'll faster lose your paypal account/paypal account privileges rather than win the dispute. Verified paypal doesnt mean anything too, it just means someone with this name actually exists and uses paypal account, so if you request ID and you get it you have abit less chances of it being faked
IP address etc must match -> You request them to send payment in this case as goods/services (Correct) with address defined (incorrect if you're selling virtual item). If buyer states address and you are selling virtual goods you'll lose dispute very quickly because you need to provide tracking number.

2007gpsales, in my opinion you shouldn't listen to any of Patriarch's suggestions, it'll get you into trouble. Good luck selling, maybe after reading my post you'll catch some helpful things :p

Getting scanned photo ID, not really a definite way to stop chargebacks thoguh. Best option is to use a safer method or someone you trust.

it's better not to accept scanned documents, photos are much better because there's less possibility of document being faked

Make sure the sender isn't on a proxy or a VPN, this won't grantee the sender wont charge back though. Its best you just accept paypal from people you trust.

The last option I take is calling Paypal directly and explaining the situation. Be sure to get any proof you can!

That won't help, unless it's for item not received. If it's unauthorized calling them and explaining that you sold a virtual good will only get you an auto loss.

Only take PP from those you trust 100%. It's better to set up multiple payment methods. PP is never safe.

God damn it, once again you give useless advice. If you dont know anything about paypal just dont post it. Multiple payments of same value are the easiest to chargeback because someone can say he has accidently sent payment twice because he didn't know previous one went through

Only people who are very experienced with PayPal accept it as payment method because they know how to deal with chargebacks properly, for example Leanbean, r2pleasent, MMORPG

You arent experienced with PayPal, I highly suggest you using Playerauctions, payment can't be charged back if you have video/screenies of that you delivered ingame item (assuming you'll sell accounts/services/gold)

    Paypal Chargebacks

Stuff like "I am original owner of this paypal" is probably pointless. A hacker could write that so whats the difference? Saying "I agree not to chargeback" probably looks bad on you in paypals eyes. I would just have them put "Virtual items" or "Virtual items I received".
