I'm 18 years old and am currently studying at college (In US this isn't like the college you pay for its where 16-18 year old's go) and I am having trouble with illness and such which means my attendance is falling. Last year I was kicked out of my old college due to being ill for a good few months and I am only into my third month of this new college and again have been plagued (So to speak) with illness. What doesn't help is in the last three weeks where I work was burgled and I was in the centered and suffered shock and the week after I needed an operation on my legs so I was unable to go into college again. I am afraid that I will be kicked out again and at 18 I am running low on options if I do get kicked out because I will have to pay for education or get a full time low - medium pay job. I really need help as my family are putting pressure on me because if I get kicked out of college I have no idea what I will do and certainly won't be able to face my family. Apologies for the lack of appropriate grammar and such.

You shouldn't be kicked out of college for medical reasons,

The best thing to do is take your home work with you, do as much as you can while you're ill, just because you can't go to college doesn't mean you can't do your college work.

Knuckle down at college and just get your head down.

If you don't enjoy college then find a job, there are plenty of jobs out there which require no grades at all and still pay a decent wage.

My work is up to date, it is just that my college has an attendance policy and if you don't adhere to it you can get removed from the course, I have stated that I've been off provided Dr's notes etc, it just worry's me.

Call your college & explain the situation; almost all would provide leeway if you can prove your point (you have a Doctor's note, etc). since your work is up to date, you can use that as part of your explanation that you're serious about college and really want to excel, although you're plagued with illnesses. colleges will view you positively for your attitude. good luck sir

I went to college today all seemed fine but just worried that the tutors may contact my parents.

You've just gotta contact someone high up within the college itself and explain your situation. They aren't going to bite your head off, they are actually there for this exact situation. They should be able to give you any necessary information needed to put your idle worrying to rest.

Over in the UK we have counselors we can talk to about problems as such, I'm sure if you address your concerns with an appropriate member of staff all should be fine, don't let the anxiety take over, stay strong buddy!
