ELO ratings and ranking systems

So I've been playing LoL for a year or so now, on and off and I'm not that bad, I can win in silver ELO which is probably where I belong, the problem was I did bad on my 10 placement games, and thus I was stuck in Bronze 5 for eternity, on OCE especially it is nearly impossible to get out of it unless you're a LoL pro(compared to me).

What I wanted to know is, now that the season is over, when the new season starts do you play another 10 placement matches or do they put you back into your old ELO?

 

You get another 10 placements, opponents depend on (APPARENTLY) Current elo + 1200 / 2.

Saying you belong in silver when you're in bronze (especially bronze v) won't help you at all, it's better to say "i deserve to be in bronze" gives you a better mind set more/more motivation to climb.

You are only as good to where you can carry yourself out of.

If you cant escape bronze you belong there..

I was in bronze for 500 games, silver 600..

Ended the season with 400 games in gold at gold 1.

 

I find climbing through bronze quite hard, only due to the fact there are so many toxic players out there, I had two people in my game who were arguing all game, that's all they were concentrating on, we ended up losing, seems to happen almost every game in bronze unfortunately

 

I'd say people actually get more toxic in general as you rise. Bronze players just don't know what they're doing with builds, mechanics, etc., in general.

 

Yeah, being in bronze kind of sucks, aside from the people who flame in chat I don't mind people in bronze, but it's just too toxic to escape.

 

If you belong higher, you'll get out without too much trouble. Just work towards it

 

started playing during the end of the pre-season for season 3. started off in silver 5 and literally could not carry myself out. stopped blaming my team, looked at what i did wrong and now im sitting at 70 points in diamond 1.

 

I got placed in bronze 4, dropped all the way down to 0 points and after a couple of long months I managed to carry myself out. My friends told me it would be hell if I played right when I got level 30 especially when I used XP boosts.

It takes time and dedication to get out but next season you start somewhat fresh. Take it slow, make sure you are on your game before you play ranked and you'll lose less.

 

I managed to get myself from bronze 5 to bronze 3 but it's hard, i can't carry my team so much because i main support, it's definitely my best position. i don't feed often with support and my lolking states i win 2/4 games as support. but when i get an agro toxic adc it ruins my whole lane, i can't carry a match as leona, nami, morg with support builds.

thanks everyone though, i have had that mindset that i am in bronze for a reason but i still believe it will be a little bit easier to play in higher ELO's where the players have been playing a while longer and potentially care a lot more about ranked games.

Don't worry, My team and I are destroying to be honest, but i'm suck in bronze, and letting my team down, I learned over the couple weeks, say calm and don't rage, I was close lost my near perfect team from raging, remember yourself, that's all.

I'm currently suck in bronze IV from Troll teams
Went from Bronze II to Bronze IV

 

I reckon Bronze II-I players are better than Silver V.

It's because some people got carried and put in Silver V then they can't drop because of the ranking system and clamped in Silver V.

My friend is clamped in Silver V, belongs in Bronze. Wins 10 LP loses 40LP

 

give annie support a go. i played around with annie around plat 3 and was sitting on like a 15 game winstreak, ended up in plat 1 50lp.

you need to learn how to make calls. assert yourself as the team leader without actually triggering toxicity.

 

Lowest I've been was Silver I on this season so I wouldn't know what bronze players are like, but just ignore everyone when you get in game and play your own game.

 

I bought a bronze V account (I'm just gold) and I got like 28 wins 5 loses and I'm such low elo still so if you say you're silver you should be there.
