What do you guys think...Rainbow Partyhat? Black Santa Hat?

I was REALLY hoping for a Black Partyhat. I also fricken KNEW Jagex would be slimy about giving Partyhats out...I don't know why, I just had an annoying feeling they'd try to get out of giving everyone 2x of each Partyhat. If you didn't see the proposed content stuff, go read it, there's a bunch of stuff on slayer and the Xmas event. Sounds like you can cut Phats into shards and create a Rainbow partyhat. A Rainbow phat sounds cool, but imo everyone should get 2 sets, as originally decided in an earlier content poll...You do get 2 crackers for doing the event, but still...

I really wanted a Black or Orange phat though

 

I'm confused about "having 2 of each partyhat." Can you currently only hold one of each color, or are you just only given one for completing the event?

 

It was originally the intention of Jagex to re-release the rares at their respective holiday events. This promise was fulfilled by Jagex in the Halloween event, as people got 2 Mask Sets, a Black Mask (new custom item), and 2 pumpkins.

However, now it seems Jagex doesn't plan on giving out 2 of each Partyhat...which essentially means they're liars (not surprising, eh?)...they instead want to introduce a "Rainbow" Partyhat, that is made by cutting the six normal phats into shards and combining them.

This is all well and dandy, however, if you don't get 2x phat sets for completing the event, that means you have to buy a limited supply of Partyhats that are increasing in demand as a result.

Oh, and you got 2x of each item so it would act as a placeholder in your bank. That's the reason you got two.

It's amazing that Jagex is not averse to making the same mistake twice, if not thrice...if not more than that. They continually seem to make the same mistakes. At this rate 2007 scape is becoming a misnomer, meaning it's not even Old School....It's going to inevitably happen. EoC will probably come to 07 too some day...trollolol.

So instead, we've gone back to the original drawing board plan and are ofeering two of every partyhat, an untradeable rainbow partyhat AND an untradeable Black partyhat. We'll throw the rainbow one in for good measure but you will not need to cut up any partyhats to make it and neither will it retain any street value, it'll just become another untradeable vanity 'rare'.

We've also looked at some of the slayer feedback and there's been some concern over the introduction of additional XP when completing a task quickly through time trial slayer. Instead, we'll go down the route of offering additional points and leave the XP rates exactly as they are.

We've also taken extra feedback on board and are adding the slayer gem to the slayer mask allowing you to right click the helmet to see how many kills you have left giving the helm the same options as the gem. This will be inclusive when building the helmet.

How does that sound?

 

im excited about the slayer part, but rares or any hats i dont really care about those as their just cosmetic items

It's surprising to me that there still exists players who read about upcoming updates and only focus on the free, junk items; in this case partyhats.

 

They weren't going to be that cheap if they weren't given out.

Personally I like the idea of a Black Partyhat, cosmetic or not.

 

Wait, with the slayer then the slayer helmet is getting a newer update than the RS3 one? So much for old-school rs.

 

Pretty stupid updates overall, I hate them. Add something useful, I hope they don't add those stupid hats and all those dumb things, hopefully the slayer update is actually good, and doesn't ruin the slayer skill overall.

 

To me phats are just a waste of bank space. Have no real value and jagex is just throwing them around lol.

 

Agreed about the originals. Though honestly, I really like my Black Halloween mask, largely because it's brand new. The Rainbow Phat will probably be ugly, but the Black Phat will be cool.
