Community Game Night Competition Idea!

So here's the idea! I'm looking to see how many people would be interested in participating in a Community Game Night competition on Terraria.​

Here's the details:

The competition will be a best building competition.

• Players will be given a set amount of time (2-5 hours, exact time undecided.)
• Players will be given access to spawn commands
• Griefing or otherwise tampering with another users entry will result in an immediate disqualification AND a ban from future competitions for poor conduct.
• Winner will be decided by majority vote of some sort (Will work that out later as well)

My questions to you all:

• Would you be willing to participate?
• Do you have any feedback/suggestions to help with this idea?
• Do you wish to donate to the prize pool?
• Do you have any further questions/comments/concerns of any type?

Oh did I forget to mention... Winner will receive a prize! (Prize currently stands at $30 via paypal (can be converted to currency/payment type of choice))

Competition will take place over 2 days. Players can only participate on one of the days (This is in an attempt to accommodate anyone who can't make one of the two days)

The first day will take place on Friday Night, Starting at 5PM PST (GMT-8)
The second day will take place on Saturday, starting at 3PM PST (GMT-8)


Contest will run for 3 hours. Winner will be best house design after building finishes. Judges will be Myself, Delta Squad, KoolAidKiller, and Trinity.

Scoring will be done on 4 categories, out of 1-10 points.

• Overall Design
• Layout
• Completion of build by deadline
• Difficulty of build

Total possible score is out of 160 points (40 max possible per judge)

Competitor with the highest overall score will be crowned victor.

Oh, I forgot to mention. If you don't own the game, I can send you a cracked version (or you can download one yourself.) - The current game version is v1.2.1.2

 

Sounds interesting and I like the idea as it will continue bringing the community together.

I haven't tried the game yet, but I think that's irrelevant. We will have opportunities for other games in future events.

I would be interested in participating.

 

I personally dislike the game Terraria after playing it for quite a while.
I'd maybe tune in sometime to watch some streams if somebody would be streaming

I'd like to hereby donate 10$ PP to the prizes.
I hope this inspires to get more of these events out, with other and many more games

I would play if I wasn't busy with school. In the future around christmas I'd love to get involved. Great work on continuing efforts to bring the community together.

 

I played with the game for a bit and it seems neat, but I prefer MC...

Mainly because I suck at it lol I like the 3-D better =]. Would be fun to watch you guys buildin' shizz, though... =d

 

Never played Terraria. I doubt my computer would be able to handle it.

 

Yeah i think maybe more people would be open to Minecraft. That being said im down to play anything!

You're probably wrong. This game's VERY simple. My GF plays this on her computer that's like 8 years old and still running windows xp.
