Biology Phylogenetic Project

For my Biology lab, we need to collect 12 samples of 12 organisms from 12 different phylums. My professor strongly suggests that we get one from each different kingdom. My question is, what are many common organisms from the Kingdom Bacteria and Kingdom Protista that you would be able to find almost anywhere. More so, at your house? Anything would help!
