    How to focus?

This week coming I'm filled with tests each day and with very limited time for myself (rs,sythe, facebook) and I really need to focus while studying.

Problem is my table, reason being is because I have my laptop and a second screen there and they take some space.

When I begin to study, I read for example the book and then summarize the important points, problem is when I'm done with that I cannot read or focus, because I get tired to read the same thing over and over again.

Any ideas on what to do guys?

    How to focus?

Simple. Since you have a laptop, and not a desktop, just remove that off your table and put it somewhere else where it's not easily accessible...

    How to focus?

    1. Drink shit tons of coffee
    2. Sit with NOTHING else but what is required for work
    3. If it helps (like it does for me) listen to some music, the faster and more up-beat the better
    4. Take breaks every 30mins-1hour, just a 5 min walk round your house or a smoke etc.
    5. DON'T SURF THE NET

This saw me through my degree with a 2:1

    Good luck!

    How to focus?

This is bad advice lmao. Don't drink too much coffee and don't listen to fast "upbeat" music. That will definitely make you lose focus. It's more preferred not to listen to music as it jogs your brain.

To be focus you need to:

    1. Have a good night's rest. Not a 4 hour nap.
    2. Eat something in the morning, make sure it's healthy.
    3. Avoid distractions, this means anything else you aren't working on, remove.
    4. Organize and prepare. Make sure you know what you're doing and in which order so it doesn't confuse you.
    5. Lastly you need to have some time of motivation for what you're doing. Remind yourself why you're doing the things you do and what will come of it.

I take breaks when studying as it helps a lot. I suggest you try different ways of studying as different methods are suited to different people.

    How to focus?

Depends alot of what kind of class it is, if it just a large amount of material to best way to solve that is that study in advance. If the course is more subjective and depends a lot of learning concepts then you want to pay attention in class and know what your professor wants you to know.

My personal method of studying involves sitting at a table with no computer, print outs of ALL of the material I need for the exam and copious amounts of caffeine preferably in the form of monster energy drank. I am a P1 Pharmacy Student.

    How to focus?

I'm studying law and I face this problem almost every day as much of the content is very dry.

    What works for me is:

    - Quick exercising before hand (e.g. 30 minute jog).
    - If I'm really tired I'll have a coffee.
    - Studying away from the laptop/computer if I don't need it.
    - Try to reward yourself once you've done a good amount.
    - If I am really screwed/lazy, I might use some modafinil. I'd be interested to hear if anyone else here has experienced smart pills.

I'm 17 years old and I cannot take pills because I think they're not need and if I start taking I will become a slave of it.
What about pills being not an option? What else you can think of?

Take the advice I've given you. Trust me, you will feel like an energizer bunny if you follow the steps. Eating healthy is a major factor in this too.

    How to focus?

When I can't concentrate, I always think about the rewards of doing that work. It could be getting money from doing a job, getting A's on work in school, etc.

It's always a good motivator to know what you're working to obtain.

    How to focus?

Take some adderall. Many of my friends that have ADHD take adderall for the SAT, ACT, and AP exams. All of the things people above said work as well, so if your parents will not let you use adderall for specific study use, then go with the other options.

This is pretty solid advice. However, people do learn best in different ways so maybe trying different things will allow you to figure out what is the best option for you!

    How to focus?

-When studying, never try to go 4 hours straight (or however long), take breaks at different points and try to go get a snack or something and actually go over what you just studied in your head, then comeback and repeat.
-Have a healthy breakfast that will give your body all the things it needs (vitamins, energy, etc), a good example being some OJ or AJ with some fruit and toast.
-Have a good nights rest, the time studying on the final night will not help you as much as having a full nights rest will.
-Don't stress about anything, all it will do is distract you/make it harder to get anything done. Just go with the flow and prepare as best as you can.

    How to focus?

for example, some people learn best by reading information. Some people learn best with some sort of pictures as illustrations. The most effective method for me is reading my own hand writing, what I do is write all the main notes that I need to learn on a piece of paper and revise from that. I also take breaks every 30-60 mins and get a bit of fresh air, have a glass of juice or just watch a youtube video for 5 mins as this keeps me awake.

Experiment with different methods of learning and one will definitely suit you :)

    How to focus?

Go into a room where there are no distractions, like a dining room, or somewhere plain and shit.

    Set yourself targets
    Drink some coffee
    Have regular breaks
Treat yourself every now and then
    Study with a friend

    How to focus?

I have a system. All I have is a fire, table, chair, textbooks and a pen and paper. Do an hour of studying, then do half an hour of what I want. If I get delayed and it takes an hour with what I'm doing off study, then I do 2h study when I get back. It makes it feel like it's being done quicker.
