OP, I'm not sure if this has been sorted out more thoroughly since your last post, but you need to confront this ASAP, and be prepared to choose between the two. If your friend has such a hard time with it, he's not considering anything further than his own feelings on the matter.

 

Chances are, someone is gonna get hurt either way, just be open and straightforward and it might work out. But if he feels that you're trying to push him out, he may push back and then your girlfriend may feel like shes being forced to choose between her boyfriend and her good friend.

 

Case closed.. nothing more to say

Honestly from my perspective having been in many situations like this... From the girl's point of view, I would rather neither you, nor A, talk about A's feelings toward me. Not you to me, not him to me, not you to him, and vice versa.

If it becomes a problem, where it is interfering with any of the relationships between any party, then it needs to be dealt with accordingly.

If A loves her, then he will want what will make her happiest, and if that's you, prove it to him with how you act around her and how sensitive and respectful you act around him.

You have the benefit of sympathy with A.

if it was me I would first try and talk to him and tell him to back off. If that doesn't work, hey.. gotta do what ya gotta do

 

Tell him how you feel about it and see his response

 

Tell him look mate, what doens't kill you makes you stronger, at the end of the day its just the way the cookie crumbles lol
