3DS Max VS Maya

When it comes to Animation, which is better?
When it comes to VFX, which is better?
When it comes to Game design, which is better?
Overall, which is better?

What are the differences between the two? Is one better?

I'm a user of digital tutors, and in the 3D section they have more tutorials on Maya.
When I look at the game section, they have more tutorials on 3DS Max.
Why?

Any other opinions?

 

They are both developed by the same company (Autodesk)

Max is easier to work with but has limited uses. If you want to challenge yourself go with Maya as the experience will probably be useful.

 

From what I know max was made for gaming, maya for animations
A lot of popular animations with graphics like the ones you see in toy story were made through maya.

 

3DS Max is the easier one.

Tbh id go with Maya but thats just me. 3ds is easier though.

 

You know what you should do? Try both, try a few tutorials and see what you enjoy using more.
