Avatar File Size Limit?

I cannot find a limit on the file size... can someone tell me what the limit is and perhaps put it into the rules next to the avatar dimensions?

I was told the file size itself was too large =p. It was 1.9 MB, which I understand is large considering it is an avatar.

Edit: I did some editing and now I'm down to 1.13 MB >.>

Someone tell me ahhhh I don't want my Squirtle looking any uglier!

I already have the avatar up, no worries. I reduced the file size by 51% =d

Well, when I got it down to 2MB it was already so very degraded... so when I took it down more I lost a lot, but I still got to have the avatar I wanted!

 

It's a bit choppy but I'm sure you can google a website that can condense images/gifs and make them smaller, while still obtaining the same speed level.

Yeah sure report it I guess... I'm too lazy... the unofficial answer for anyone who googles this is 1MB (I think I'm the only one who's tried to upload a huge gif =p).

I don't really mind the quality right now... I might make a better version later =p.
