Need to Write 2 Raps (2-3 Minutes Each)

Hey all. theres a rap battle at my school between a couple guys and me. I have never rapped before and I was kinda forced to be in this battle. So I need some help from you Sythers that may know anything about writing rap.

Its really just an insult contest that has to be in rap form, with no back beat so it really can be any form I guess, AABB ABAB ABCDABCD anything.

Please PM me your skypes. I really need help as the battle is on thursday. Its just a 4 way battle. I have a lot of info on the other guys doing it and we agreed it can be any insults, as we still walk away friends. I have a couple good rhymes made already, but I really need help.

Really, a battle like that is all about the improv and having a pretty decent vocabulary. You need to be able to spot something and stab a knife where it'll hurt most.

 

we aren't improving, it's just a shitfest tbh.

 

M8 a rap battle is supposed to be free styled on the spot.

Goodluck though. I really have no input. Try to observe what they do throughout the day and pick out flaws in there personality and exploit them.

 

What Lame said, a rap battle is freestyle or improvised.
You can have some preparation but ultimately you need to come up with material on the fly.

 

Actually, the word 'freestyle' has changed in today's terms. When you see an artist 'freestyling' on the radio he is usually rapping a written song he hasn't recorded or released yet. The original meaning for 'freestyle' meant spitting off the top and rhyming whatever comes to your head. Battle rapping is definitely written beforehand. Look up 'Loaded Lux vs Calicoe' and you'll see with all of the metaphors and wordplay that their lyrics are impossible to just "think up on the spot".

2 - 3 minutes is significant amount of time. Rap battles can get boring if you're not constantly delivering punches. Don't spend too long setting them up, unless it's so fucking good that it deserves all the build up.
