Discussion about Refer a Friend Bans

Anyone else get banned from the refer a friend system after buying referrals? I am not banned from the game, I am just banned from the referral system, the email I got for the reason was something to do with using third party programs and suspicious activity. They removed all the content I had gained from the referrals.

 

how many you bought?
where all of them done at same time?
did you had any legit referal?
could you please tell how were their names for example?

 

Bought 50, All done over a period of 1 week, define legit... I bought from a guy, dont know the names?

 

well i asked because you can check the names on referal page and if the seller does them like austin1, austin2, austin3 , well that's more than easy to spot out...
I've been trying to achieve 50 refs by slowly getting there, did 10 last month, got 10 this month and at the moment no ban or anything
also when i mean legit, im talking about real accounts refered to you from friends/people you told about the game... i have 2 for example on lvl 30 in the midle of those

When did you buy it and how long did it take for you to be ban from RAF program? You can check the names on League of Legends website.

 

I can't check the names because when I click to go to the page I get the ur banned message. Ban came about 1 MONTH after I purchased them. I assume they aren't LEGIT because I bought them.

No eennee, they obviously arent legit as you purchased them

I bought 100 and have not been caught, im unsure how you got caught for only 50

Easy, get a smurf that's level 20, get referrals on there, gift the RP/whatever skins you want to your main.

 

I don't recall where but I've heard you can get ban for that as well and the gift can be removed if anything. Not too quite sure

Anyway that sucks, probably just bad luck.

 

I've bought 150 referrals in the past on ebay and didn't get banned from it, I did hear that a lot of famous league players have been banned from the referral service from asking their subscribers to refer them.

 

dont know if thats true... wildturtle currently is asking on his twitch to refer for him so dont think so

Also eennee, when you buy refs they're 100% leveled from persons who are doing it for money, so that's agaisnt rules. You should knew theres always risks

 

Well I know of a streamer that is banned from the referral system, not sure if it was for that or he tried to cover up the fact he bought referrals.

 

All of the referral service providers will tell you that they're not responsible for bans because they're pretty common. I guess you were just one of the unlucky ones :/

 

yet 90% of refs sellers here are allowed to title their thread with SAFE or even state that NONE of their buyers have ever been banned. sad

 

I find that such a bad service... The people selling them should be banned not the people buying them.

 

well i've never been banned either so yup he was just unlucky
we get banned because we are trying to exploit rewards by going on a easy way and remember that these rewards are RP's

 

Yeah, I know and the people buying them should have the IP/ RP taken off them, not be banned from the referral system. The people selling them should be the ones getting banned, although I suppose it'd be difficult as they make loads of different accounts to do the referrals.

 

Banned from a system they've abused - seems perfectly fair to me.

It's like someone being banned from selling goods on Sythe because he or she abused the system by scamming. To Riot, RP = sales, so paying a third party to earn you RP is scamming Riot.

While I love how community-involved Riot is, they're still a business. There has to be something more than getting wiped to deter people from lessening their profits.
