How much longer ?

The Death Of Runescape.

Ok, now, Runescape has been around for years.
Its had its ups and downs.
But to me, Runescape will be gone soon.

I quit like for 3 years.
But even back then, you have 100,000 people playing.

Now they did there Rs3, which is a rip of a mmoprg like WoW. The hot keys are dumb.

No one wants to pay for membership.

And they never listen to there players.

Whats your imput on Rs ?
How much longer you think it can endure ?

 

Just ringing as much money as they can out of it. Every time I log in it makes me sad considering how good and how much enjoyment I got when I was as a young kid year back. shit all over the screen no idea how to attack

07 saves it slightly.

It won't die anytime soon, despite the amount of players still playing.

 

Well, I made my own on it.
And yeah, maybe it will stay up forawhile. But no one wants to play with hardly anyone on.
Might aswell play a private server.
and 07 is awesome !

 

If there is 50k players online over all servers at all times (well mostly), there must be more than 50k players in total. If they have 100k paying accounts every month, that's over half a million $/month just from memberships assuming only 70% of players are members (all OSRS are). I'm sure if they make around $6M alone a year from membership, then the added extras from solomons/bonds/spins will make up the rest, they're not gonna shut the game down anytime soon.

 

game isnt dead, but the game has lost its touch due to the removal of pking on the main game

 

The game isn't a rip off of wow, I have no idea how anyone could say that. The only thing similar is the key binds. I pretty much think of anyone that calls runescape a rip off of another game a full fledged retard.

 

This game has gone so down hill recently, there's no way to deny that, the numbers show for themselves, this game probably has 1-2 years left in it, max.

A fall in players doesn't mean the game will suddenly end lol.

 

Most worlds can't hold over 100 players, get out now before your gp is truly worthless.

 

They stole many WoW ideas over the years, don't know what you're talking about

Auction House -> GE; for one

 

They have way to many servers for so little players. They need to reduce the amount of servers. This would cut costs and allow players to actually interact with each other.

 

Auction house isnt like the ge lol. In the auction how you either put your item up for bidding or you pick a buyout which everyone can see, there is a money sink in it, and the auction doesnt last forever. In RuneScape there is no bidding, it can stay in there for ages, no money sink, a history, easy flipping, buy limit, etc.

So its really not the same thing.

 

It saddens me to see the population on worlds so low nowadays, however with that being said. I really think everyone is underestimating the lifespan of Runescape.

Nowadays it seems like 10% of the players left from the 'glory days' make up 90% of the Runescape profit. Micro payments, 07, etc.

I could see Runescape being around for another 5 years or so. The numbers will never be as high as they once were, but it'll stay around. There's always going to be people playing. Now at what point does it get to where Jagex says we can't operate anymore- idk.

Here's my theory on why Runescape won't grow any larger than what it is currently at.

I personally started playing Runescape in 2005, and I'd be willing to bet that the majority of you started plying around this time period +/- a few years, right?

Well, look at the game as what it was then- Simple as could be. There wasn't a flashy tutorial island trying to impress you, items worth billions of GP, or a stuck up "veteran" community running around complaining about how bad the game is and how it was better in the "golden days".

For me, Runescape was simple enough for me to really get into and want to "explore the massive MMORPG by Jagex Ltd." Yet, extensive enough to where I was always challenged and kept me interested with the game.

If a new player was to start playing Runescape for the first time ever today what do you think they're impression would be? Terrible. Hell, it's even terrible for me since I don't play EoC much.

Jagex has been catering (Trying, but failing to do so) to the current player and sucking every penny possible out of them. They said hell to the new players we're not getting many of them nowadays. Which if they attempted to, the health of the game would look much more promising now.

Anyways, I'm going on a little temper tantrum here so I'll stop typing because I know you've stopped reading quite awhile ago.

TL;DR No new players; Game dies eventually.
