Banning 'free xxxxx' from signatures and user titles

If a user has been banned with the conclusion that they've scammed, vaded, black hatted etc why should people be able to put 'Free ASAP, JohnG and now Puppet Master in their signature/user title.. Them having that in their signature basically says they're supporting their scamming and think they should be above the rules and be unbanned?

 

I find them annoying, but they should have the right of free speech.

 

Ehh.. Sorry, Jess, I'm going to have to side against you on this one. It's all in good fun, and their sig space is their own as long as it's not horribly offensive or anything.

The users scammed other people.. That's against site rules and is morally wrong, I don't think they should be advertising their names around when they've done something that's frowned upon on Sythe.Org

 

It doesn't have a negative impact on the site, nor does it affect anyone.

 

I know that it doesn't, but their name doesn't need to be spread around the site like they've been banned for the wrong thing.

 

I disagree with this, you cannot just say to a sythe member you cannot have these things put into your signature if its appropriate then why shouldn't they put it but obviously if its something false then they shouldn't put it into their signature. However end of the day its their space their signature they do what they want and how they want.

 

no support, i have no problem with this, and most of the people with it in there sigs only frequent the spam forum, and maybe a couple other threads, obviously they think that they deserve to be pardoned/unbanned and that is why they have it, after all it is their signature

As far as I'm concerned you should be able to share your own opinion especially within the confines of your own signature. If you were to start dictating what's acceptable in signatures and what is not is just going to be a headache for moderators. Hell, some people are saying #free_____ to those who aren't even banned for scamming.

Yeah, I have to agree with everyone else on this one. Its just an unnecessary regulation for peoples personal signatures. I suppose it could be seen as distasteful at times, but I believe that I should be able to put "Hail Hitler" into my signature if I really wanted to.

 

It's just an opinion and just a spam forum thing. If X person wants Y to be unbanned, isn't that just having an opinion?

The staff decide who gets pardoned / unbanned anyway, so it really doesn't make any difference.

 

There are limits as to what you can put in your signature. Such as lying about vouches/pc/trades ect.

 

Saying you want someone unbanned and then lying about having this and that to deceive others for trust are both very different things.
