Why is my computer not booting up when a graphics card is installed?

So I was playing Orcs Must Die 2 when all of a sudden my computer shut-off so I unplugged everything waited an hour then plugged it back in with only a black screen. So then I found dust in my pc and used air cans to wipe all of it off, but I decided to discharge all the static and what happened was 6 beeps appeared which means a graphics card issue. When ever I turn on my pc nothing appears no logo or bios setting, but all my fans and everything is working like it should I even tested my monitor on another pc. When I took out my graphics card though my computer booted up so I turned it off because I knew it was the graphics card so I used 2nd one that worked on my other pc, but that card didn't even work on my pc. Those two cards work on my other pc though so the cards are not broken nor is my motherboard or cpu. I'm going to guess that it is my bios that all of a sudden are having an issue launching my vga. What I want to know is how do I fix this problem do I have to take out my graphics card and go on my bios to enable something? Remember it was working just a little while and the vga is powered I know that for sure, it must be bios it just has to be.
    PLEASE HELP ME!!!

Have you tried setting up your primary graphics adapter?
It's most likely set to use your onboard graphics. Try setting it to the slot where you put your graphics card.

Also maybe you need to reset your motherboard, you can do that by taking out the battery, after disconnecting everything from the computer. Just take out the battery, let it sit for a minute and put it back in.

These are the things I did a few years ago when I was having problems. GL

It was a desktop so no battery, but you probably were probably right though about which card it was using. It worked, but not doing it that way because I didn't know about that. What I did was did a full system recovery then when it booted up on the onboard graphics because it would it boot with that either I reinstalled the card. Then waited a day until it started to not beep and work magically now I'm using it. Thanks though because I at least had someone answer my question and now in the future I may try your method.

Yeah no problem man. Congratulations on getting it to work.
Also desktops have batteries. They are similar to a watch battery and are usually located somewhere on the motherboard. They don't "power" the computer, they just protect the motherboard from being reset every time you disconnect it from a power source.

I know what your talking about now. I actually thought they were only for the time on your pc I didn't know they served a greater purpose.
