Disputing ban

Hi Staff,
Let me get started by saying yes I understand what I did is somewhat stupid and dumb but I didn't do it just out of "spite" and because I hate JohnG, I did it because I had reason to believe JohnG was doing things that are against the rules of Sythe.org

He came into my Sythe.org chat and started spamming random crap and I said this about ooga and he told me he had been MM'ing trades for Ooga, why would you MM trades for a KNOWN scammer and hacker? You're just spreading hacked/scammed gold.. Or if money is involved such as paypal, why are you letting this happen when Ooga would obviously chargeback?
Yes, Soheil did MM a trade between R2P and Ooga but this was to get a livechat back if I remember correctly? It wasn't for items such as gold or money, so it raises the question, WHAT was JohnG mm'ing for Ooga? I wanted to find this out since JohnG wasn't going to tell me.

I am in NO way a threat to Sythe.org - I have NEVER scammed, I have never done anything to harm any member or any other member not part of this site, before this ban I did a $102 middleman which I could of ran away with knowing full well that Ooga was posting this report around ~12 hours ago, but I didn't because that isn't the sort of person I am and I think a lot of people can vouch for me, if you think me trying to get information off of a known scammer is wrong, then I'll have to create a pardon, my intentions where nothing but good and I honestly didn't think people would care if I took information from Ooga and ran, I apologize and it won't happen again, not that I want to get into this sort of trouble again, all I was doing was going off my gut feeling.

If this is denied, then I request a mod look at ALL the chatlogs between JohnG and Ooga himself, I guarntee you will find more than just one banable offence as the screenshot sent to Matresa was ban-able and had JohnG (not being sarcastic) admitting to scamming.

I understand fully I'm not everyone's favourite, and a lot of people dislike me, but as above I am no harm to this community, if anything I try and strive to make it better, so thanks for your time.

 

I'd also like to add this in:

I never scammed or tried to scam any kind of currency such as gold or money, the trade was that I went on cam for 5 minutes for the screenshot of JohnG admitting to scamming.
I would of never, NEVER, gotten any type of money or RSGP involved.

In my opinion, Chloe wants to be mod way too bad, which drives her to do these unnecessary investigations. Although she did scam by not holding her part of the deal I feel she wouldn't scam anyone else and would support an unban.

However.. A crime cannot go unpunished.
I'll wait for the input of other members of staff before I fully decide on supporting or not.

 

I'd be game for a 1 month ban and a twc which is undisputable for 6 months.

 

I don't want to sound disrespectful or like I'm trying to over ride your decisions but do I really deserve a TWC? I'll take the one month ban, hell I'll even take a 6 month ban but I really don't deserve that TWC.

Even when I knew that Ooga was going to send a report out on me, he even tried to bet with me for $100 that he would get me banned and I told him to go ahead because I thought people didn't care what others did to Ooga because he admitted to scamming ~$100k to me and Matresa in the chat.

I knew Ooga was going to report me and I still did a $100+ MM with no problems.
I know this isn't the place to "dispute" a TWC but I'd really like the staff to think a bit longer before placing a TWC on me.
There has never been a scam report on me, or any kind of suspicious activity by me in ANY trade, which you can ask anyone.

I went with my gut feeling, and I was right, I'd still like mods to view all of JohnG's chatlogs, but I was wrong in thinking you could walk all over a scumbag hacker/scammer.

 

Doesn't matter who it is - it's still scamming. Counter-scamming (i.e. scamming a scammer) is only acceptable when what you're scamming is exactly what was stolen and then returning it to the rightful owner. It's in the rules and ignorance of the rules isn't an excuse. You had good intention, I accept that. You thought nobody would mind, I accept that.

In agreement with Corey's proposal. It can't go unpunished albeit a misjudgement of rules.

Just leave the account permed then. And by that I don't mean 1 month perm ban, and then self-requested ban - i mean permanently regular banned.

Not disputable, and someone should include this dispute in the account's ban reason
