Do you think OldSchRunescape will grow?

I hope it grows and stays around for some time. I'd like for Jagex to add more features to the game, but time will tell..

 

More people are quitting than are joining.. so I don't think so :/

 

The real question is, do you ever think it will be the same?
Same as the first time you PKed with an account that that was it's sole purpose.
I haven't played in quite some time, before the 07 update, right after the free trade came back. And I just don't think the game will ever be the same. Do you guys not remember BEGGING for Free Trade and PKing back? Now we get it back, and everyone is like... meh fuck this been there done that, I'll work on my main.

 

It's not going to grow, people thought that GWD would create a boom, but from what I can tell it's still hovering around that 10k mark - and I'm not sure there is much else that can implement (old-school wise) in order to get more people playing.

To the poster above, I agree, it's definitely not the same as it was, the only people that play it now are those die-hard fans that know pretty much everything to do to gain the best out of their time, I thought the game was a lot better when both myself and the majority of players wern't all that knowledgeable on the different factors of the game.

 

They need to release a more recent version of the game. 2007scape is good but it just gets boring when you're so used to the newer versions. Not everyone wanted 07scape anyway, but just something without eoc in it. I think eventually they will update it to a more recent version but I just hope it's not too late :[

 

I don't think it will.

When Jagex Released Runescape 2, after they finished Beta testing for it; they maintained the older version for all players that wished to continue playing it: Runescape classic. They didn't just force everyone to adapt, they allowed for the community to gradually and naturally adapt and change to the newly released content.


Doing the simple actions above would of helped jagex maintain tens of thousands of players, also, why didn't the implementation of EOC earn a vote??.

Thing is, i don't believe Jagex cares for 07scape to succeed, if it grows - and it easily could (baby steps, add f2p worlds), rs3 would lose momentum and that would really shatter their incompetent egos. It would without a doubt prove that RS3 sucks.

It's dying already, I don't see it growing. But I don't see it disappearing.

 

It's going to stay the way it is, won't die though.
There is nothing Jagex can do about it aswell, we need to realize that runescape is an outdated game.

I will have to say that I am optimistic atm due jagex letting players to play osrs for free for a few days.
If it surpass the 20k mark, I think something will get started about the f2p option.

 

07 is still relatively new, and most who've quit RuneScape probably aren't going to return for a bit. Give it a little time, and I'll grow. Not exponentially, but gradually.

 

someone may have said this already, but maybe sell just 07 membership for like half the price of the full membership. also make a bond option for 28 days of ONLY oldschool

It's going to continue to decrease especially with the increasingly number of bans being enforced by Jagex. They should offer free 1 month periods to every body, the 2 day thing wasn't enough.
