Retain mini-ranks when banned/unbanned

Pretty self-explanatory. People get bans and when they get unbanned they find all of their mini-ranks gone.

Can we just make it so that they are fixed like ranks and won't disappear when banned?

 

Support, some people invest a large amount of time/money into them. I imagine that this is a technical limitation of some sort though.

 

I don't see why it would. We retain our regular ranks when banned/unbanned.

 

I was going to suggest this myself but never got around to it/figured that it was something that would eventually get fixed on its own.

Because there is a pardon sytem, it should retain all miniranks, even on perm ban.

I honestly don't get why Matthew didn't think of this problem before releasing a new feature. Obvious support for a fix.

 

Definite support from me - it's only fair, especially if it's a SRB or some petty short-term ban.

 

Huge support, it's a problem actually. Miniranks are nearly inpossible to obtain them if you don't buy them from other sythe members and just the fact they get removed after someone gets banned is not good =/ Someone who doesnt have trade history / screenshots is really screwed in this situation

 

yeah support will save up that time wasted when admins have to give them back anyway.

 

Sythe set it up so you lose them when you're banned, it was supposed to be for some prize pool/giveaway or something, though I don't know what happened with it. Those of you saying "Idk why Matthew didn't take this into account.... Etc" need not blame matthew for something sythe did intentionally.

Its an interesting concept but it seems kind of silly.

If someone srb's or is wrongfully banned then they lose miniranks that they've either traded up for/won/earned/bought. As far as I know Admins have been refunding miniranks anyway.


Maybe only the miniranks of people who have been permanently banned go towards this game?

 

I'll bring this to Richard's attention and see where this salvage game stands and whether or not it can either be modified to easily return ranks, or removed all together if he decided to scrap the game.

If people have SRB'd on their own terms and they have proof of their ranks I never have any problems returning those - however, if you're banned for another reason then why should you get them back. Something still could be developed in future, I'm sure there's still the possibility there - just other things are priority for now.

 

Imagine you have $200 in minranks and a moderator misreads the report and hastily bans you. Or maybe you're close to the infraction limit and a moderator issues an infraction that was unjust. What if someones sythe account gets compromised by no fault of their own(such as it being recovered) and a temporary ban is dealt as a precaution, should they lose all of their miniranks?

There are definitely other factors to consider, its not as black and white as that.
