    Graphics Card Help

Hi there, with the release of COD Ghosts soon approaching, I am after a new graphics card. Sadly I do not know much about computers. I am not after an entirely expensive card just something that is decent enough to get good fps.

The recommended video card for the game is NVIDIA GeForce GTS 450 / ATI Radeon HD 5870 or better.

I have looked at a selection of cards found at http://www.playtech.co.nz/afawcs0139234/CATID=755/page=1/radeon_hd_7700.html

The cheapest there is $115 and what I am asking is what cards from that list would be good enough for the game and what cards would struggle.

Probably get asked this but my system specs are:
    AMD 4100fx 3.6ghz 4 core processor
    8gb 1333mz ram (I think)
500W PSU (not sure of model)

Thanks for reading and for helping.

Is that the only place that you're able to order from? Those look quite expensive.

What kind of budget do you have?

edit: You realize you're only looking at one graphics card there right? Its just different versions of the radeon hd 7770 (which is a great budget card btw)

I'd say r7 260x. great price for the performance. its a bit more potent than the 7770, not much more in price.

    Go with a R9 270x if you have a $200 budget.

I pointed out the gigabyte one because its a manufacturer I trust. You could just as easily go with any of the other big manufactures though!

any other suggestions? cause that's a USD one. That card comes to about $340 NZD unless newegg does international shipping.

Are there other places that you can shop besides that one website? If not just pick up a 7770, its still a good card.

Try finding a Sapphire Radeon R7 260X with a decent aftermarket cooler.

After much help, the selection has been narrowed down.

    http://www.playtech.co.nz/afawcs0139235/CATID=873/ID=21563/SID=995571549/productdetails.html

    http://www.playtech.co.nz/afawcs0139235/CATID=755/ID=19685/SID=777566632/productdetails.html

    http://www.playtech.co.nz/afawcs0139235/CATID=755/ID=19689/SID=85406090/productdetails.html

    http://www.playtech.co.nz/afawcs0139235/CATID=961/ID=21777/SID=575364036/productdetails.html

Which of those 4 would be the best option as those are the ones narrowed down to my current price range. Also could these cards be rated from best to worse please.

I would get a better card but I want to play the game upon release.

The cards you listed from best to worst (in my humble opinion and without too much fact checking)

Although if you can afford the extra cost: http://www.playtech.co.nz/afawcs0139235/CATID=961/ID=21776/SID=575364036/productdetails.html

The 7770 Ghz edition is a good card though, you'll be happy with it for the price.

edit: Make sure and use something like the newegg power supply calculator and make sure that your power supply can handle the upgrade =p

Thanks for all the help guys. Looks like it's the 7770. One last question.
The 7770 seems to have a 6 pin connector on the board, since I have only used cards without this (gt630), do you just put the 6 pin connector into the card and connect the 4 pin molex into the psu?
