i want to upgrade my fx 6100

hi, i want to sell my curretn CPU(fx6100) and buy a new processor. Which one should i buy? i'm mainly looking for AMD processzor and i dont want to spend too much.


my current specs:

fx6100
sapphire 7950 vapor x
2*4gb ram
asrock 970 nextreme 4
and an 500w powersupply

would i have to upgrade my powersupply or not?

 

Could you be more specific about what kind of budget you have?

^$200 in the U.S meaning that its probably under $250 in Hungary?


There is also only a 30w difference between the processors, so unless you were really pushed up against the psu's limit you should be totally fine.

Yes, most likely the psu you have should be fine. If you're super worried about it head over the newegg's power supply calculator and run it yourself. Like I said, its only like a 30W increase so I'd be really surprised if that put you over your psu's limit.

Yes, your motherboard should be fine. I would be very surprised if it caused your upgraded cpu to bottleneck at all.

 

i did it, and the result is 530w. So i need a new PSU i think

 

You should have bought a Intel one ... amd sucks lol

 

i like amd more intel is too expensive :S
