Depends. The vapour does contain things which might not be considered great for your body - but hey, that's probably 90% of things that we consume.

The main reason for vaping, is to obtain the nicotine in a familiar way without all of the toxins, tar, smells and cost.

While they might not be considered "healthy", they're still a hell of a lot better than smoking tobacco!

Yeah, I have heard similar results from friends who stopped or were able to cut back a lot with the use of e-cigs

    Quitting Smoking?

I've had several friends quit smoking in the time i've known them. One thing a close friend of mine did to quit smoking was save the receipt every time he bought a pack of cigarettes, and at the end of the month he looked at all the money he'd spent, and realized all the shit he could've done with the money that would've been more enjoyable. A few of the people I know who've quit, basically just one day got sick of smoking to the point where they couldn't stand smoking another cigarette. Also if you tend to hang around with people who smoke, that doesn't help. If someone's smoking around you just leave the room for a bit, or if it's just a few of you/the two of you ask them not to do it in front of you, and usually they'll oblige.

    Quitting Smoking?

I've quit smoking and my question is.. do you really want to quit smoking?
Think about your answer very carefully, most would say yes right away.

If you do then realize that to quit smoking, you'll have to understand that YOU ARE NOT GIVING UP ANYTHING to quit. The only thing you'll be doing is gaining positive energy and money and a lot more.

DO NOT get into vaping or patches. Vaping/patches contains nicotine and that's what you want to get rid of. You have to also understand that nicotine is a addiction and that it's not a habit. You do not enjoy smoking and that's why you want to quit.

Next thing you have to understand is, cigs do not relieve stress. Cigs only relieve the CRAVING you get from nicotine which in turns cause stress when you do not have nicotine in your system. Many can argue against this but those are the people who can't tell the differences.

There is a lot more I can say but survive 3 weeks without cigs then come talk to me again. Remember what I've wrote and maybe you won't even have to talk to me and figure your own way out. Quitting smoking is only possible only if you want to quit. Most people think they do but they actually don't because they are confuse.

I tried to. Iv come to realize i just don't want to quit yet. Been smoking for about 4 years now, but im at the most stressful point in my life atm.

Cigs do relieve stress(at first) then it becomes an addiction and you are relieving the craving.

    Quitting Smoking?

    This is where I disagree.

I'm am extremely healthy and athletic (gym and football) guy. However, I do smoke.

However, I'm not addicted to it, and I can safely say it's a context dependant habit. More or less social smoking with a few differing traits.

This is what I mean by the above (this is not a theoretical scenario, but actually a literal one taken from my life):

I only smoke when I'm either a) at coffee with friends b) party/club/bar c) drinking.

From my closer circle of friends, only me and one other friend smoke (from around 15 close friends).

To give you a better perspective:

I was on exam period for the past 3 weeks. I didn't really do anything aside sit at home and study. I would say I went out to relax and have a break (coffee with friends) maybe four times through the 3 week period. The past week I didn't go anywhere as I had 3 exams, and have yet to have a cigarette. I have no craving for it, or any need. HOWEVER, I do know that when I go out for coffee etc, that I will smoke. As said, it's a context dependant habit, that is brought about my surroundings.

You're a social smoker. You only smoke in certain settings. If you have to start using it regularly - at least once or twice a day outside your setting. That is when the addiction will kick in. Can you not smoke during those settings you said you only smoke?

I went from a social smoker to a smoker to chain smoker. My nicotine addiction cost me roughly $1300+ a year for roughly 4 years. I know how it's like to start where you started.

Being healthy and athletic is a different subject because you shouldn't make an excuse that smoking, or anything else in fact, stop you from working out. If you really want to work out, you start working out. Yeah sure smoking will affect your cardio but that doesn't make any differences to if you want to start working out.

I'd advise not using the vapour pens. Everyone I know that's switched to them, has become more addicted to them than they were on cigarettes.

Think about how much money you'd save by not smoking. My mom has seen a significant impact by doing this. She used to smoke a pack a day (20 cigarettes). Now she smokes maybe 10 a day. She's saving half the money she's spent on cigarettes.

    Quitting Smoking?

    OP,

I quit cold-turkey after smoking almost a year and a half using a Blu Premium Pack. I started with the high level nicotine cartridges and everytime I bought a new pack of 5, I bought the next level down.

I have personally done this, and I bought one for my roommate, and she quit cold turkey as well.

You get to a point where you're only addicted to the social aspect. The great thing is, there is no bad smell, no bad taste, you don't feel so gross. The best part is, it comes down to about 1/6TH THE COST!

Let me know if you do try it!!

Here is the website I order from: http://www.blucigs.com

    Kind Regards,
    Hayden

Started vaping a few days ago, haven't had a cigarette since. I feel its the best method for quitting. Now I've to get myself off the vaping though. Haha.

    Quitting Smoking?

I consider myself a chain-ish smoker for the past year. It's a bad habit and whatever technique works for you, please tell me because I want to quit too! It's just so hard though especially when you're at college drinking 4 of the 7 nights
