Rape

So, last night my girl friend got raped.
Basically, she went out with some friends & a friend of a friend raped her (sorry for the vulgarity)
She told me about it last night, over text & I truly went numb.
It broke me, I went numb, started crying & then threw up. It got to me so much more than I thought it would do, just the thought of her, alone & that happening to her makes me feel so so sick.
I've done my best to be strong for her, but I hardly slept last night & I just don't know how to cope right now, I've not eaten today or made any effort to talk to anyone or do anything. I'm just sitting at my desk, staring out of the window with a huge lump in my throat, thinking about it over & over whiles trying to fight back tears. I can just feel myself getting worse & worse as the day continues.
Any advice would be good.

 

A friend of a friend? So you know who did it? Or she does?

Sort it out. Report it to the police, yeah, you can't take away what has happened, but bringing the little coward shite to justice might help.

Failing that, and I'm not encouraging this, nor advising it - Sort it out yourself.

 

Woah.. I feel bad for you man. I can't even imagine that happening to me.
If she knows who it is, make sure to report it to the police. That asshole should get maximum jail.

Also, don't let her alone. Give extra love to your girlfriend, I know it's hard.. but man.. I don't know what to say.. Be Strong!

 

Just be there for her more than ever, encourage her to go to the police.

 

She lives about an hour away from me & she won't tell me this name or anything, if I ever bumped into him I'd end up killing him.
She's went to the police last night but it still doesn't take the fact away from what happened, she's got to live with this for the rest of her life & I know it happened, idek I don't know how to feel..

 

well there's not much u can do besides let the police handle it and be there for her. if she's really shattered about it, it might not be a bad idea to a support group. it's probably a good idea she doesn't tell you who did it, and as much as you wanna break the fools face it, getting charged with battery isn't going to do bunk all besides landing you away from your girlfriend in prison.

 

Personally if you knew who did it I would be over there with my brothers and fuck him up, then call the police it's worth the penalty to me to harm another man who would do that. I live in a shitty town with a lot of heroine and shit and that does happen round here usually by junkys and they get what they deserve.

 

You can't be the one to shutdown and feel bad. That's the reaction she should have. You should be there for her, 24/7, getting her mind off of it as much as you can. Just be there for her and comfort her, let her know you still love her. you need to support her, not the other way around.

Also, you should do your best to report it. Rape isn't generally the kind of crime that's a one-time deal; a rapist is pretty much a rapist x times over as long as he/she has the opportunity. Maybe, if you agree with this, you could get her to see it from the same point of view - if the guy who raped her stays out there, he'll probably do the same to other women.

Other than that, just be sure your girlfriend knows it wasn't her fault at all, and make sure you don't treat her any differently (other than better, of course). Forgetting it may not be, but I think a return to normalcy will be something she'll welcome.

 

Talk to the friend that knows of a friend to try get his name or threaten them to say it then find him and sort his face out a bit.

 

Not to sound like an ass but if she won't give you a name or tell the police has it crossed your mind maybe she was willing or made it up to get attention. You'd be surprised how many girls actually make that up.

 

Also was she drunk or something and was weaned into it or was she full on resisting rape and being attacked?

 

Rapes a really big issue. especially to lie about women often feel like its their fault or some other reason to not want to go to the police.


Be there for her and support her decisions is the best you can do

 

As Lean said, she was drinking, she could be using this "I was raped" as a way of covering up she slept with some guy last night and didn't want you to find out so she said it was rape.

I don't want to jump to conclusions, but SO many girls have pulled this card.

 

that's true.. I know a lot that have done that...

But if she was truly raped I feel extremely sorry for her.. Make sure she's fine and build her confidence back ( as I presume she has lost it) and tell her its not her fault

 

Ngl but what it seems like is she is lying. She most likely slept with him and he blackmailed her (probz vidded it) so she is saying it is rape.

 

Am I the only one that's skeptical? I'd confirm the details before taking any actions. There's thousands of horrors of stories of girls crying wolf since they regret it the next morning.

 

She wasn't at a party of anything, she went to the cinema with some friends. Then some of her friends came along, it was one of them that raped her. There was no alcohol involved.

 

Not trying to sound a dick or anything, but you haven't mentioned her friends reaction to this?... If my FRIEND raped another one of my friends I would be pretty pissed as a minimum lol.. Has she told her parents etc etc?
